You can tell a hit piece from the picture they choose

poor FDR in charicature looks like the Mr. Peanut logo for planter's peanuts,
so our victory in WWII stems in part from the good will the public has for
that advertizing logo. the informal but relaxed style of Mr. Peanut may have
influenced the fireside chats that were quite popular and morale building!!!

i hear a self styled herr hister borrowed charlie chaplin's moustache and wore it dreadfully!

I'm actually reading on him now.

However, keep in mind my "LOL" was in reference to him pulling that similarity from a Ron Paul picture.

ah, i see. thanks for clarifying.

although, you may find yourself laughing to attempt to quench the horror you'll feel as you read about Goebbels and draw the parallels to our own current propaganda ministry. :(

With an open mouth? Sure, they wouldn't dare try to connect Ron Paul to anti-Semites of the past, not the fair media, they'd never do that to us.

We've heard the anti-Semite charge already a dozen times from Levin, Savage, etc...don't be so naive.

Wow, you can't be serious. Just because the media is evil, doesn't mean they're using all these far-fetched nonsense ideas. The idea isn't far-fetched because the media wouldn't do it. It's far-fetched because it is ineffective and stupid.

I'm sure when anybody sees an open mouth, they think of Joseph Goebbels... don't be so naive.;)

A picture of a guy with his mouth open and hand raised while giving an impassioned speech?

Yep, definitely a Nazi reference! Obviously.

newly arrived newbies who are totally new to these posting boards sometimes go hogwild with the fastpaced delights of the same.

can i crack stalin jokes so as to bring us closer to the modern era as i tip my hat
to the optimate optimistic charm of our harvard educated "mr. peanut'" and the
often quaint & ancient pre-nuclear tymes he grandly lived in. it sorta helps to see
orson welles's masterpiece, CITIZEN KANE when you think of the near past like that.

The same reason why they chose that pic for Goebbels is the same reason why they chose that pic for Ron Paul. It's unflattering and it looks threatening.

The media has thousands of stock photos to choose from for Ron Paul, but more often then not, they end up picking some of the worst photos of Ron Paul. It's not a coincidence.

only if you quote the song "Puttin' on the Ritz" by Taco as well.

Am i the only one who doesnt think the OP pic is unflattering? I think its actually a pretty good picture, shows how serious Ron Paul is. I have nothing but admiration for the man, so I may be biased.

i actually thought what ronpaulitician thought (not family guy-- just italian) and upon looking at it better, i think this picture and his facial expression along with his body language, captures sincerity, seriousness and hope all in one.. with a big "RON" in the background (good for branding).

True, don't think that they can't use Google Images to help them make the propaganda they want, here's an easily found photo of Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. They are obviously trying to make a connection by the style of picture taken of Ron Paul.

Wow, that's a bit of reach, to put it mildly.

I doubt more than 1 American in 3 even knows who Joseph Goebbels is.

Of those who do know who he is, probably not more than 1 in 10 could connect the name with that picture.

Of those who could, including me, probably not more than 1 in 1,000,000 would make a "connection" between the Ron Paul picture and the Goebbels picture.

If you are the only one on this forum to make that connection, it's a pretty good bet that most Americans wouldn't make the connection, which should lead you to the conclusion that this was not the intent.

I agree with the sentiment that its a stretch to compare Ron's photo to the one of Goebbels. However, I find it staggeringly appalling that we Americans are so terribly ignorant of history as to not know who Joseph Goebbels was. I am continually amazed at how stupid the average american is.

I think we all owe it to Ron, as supporters of his, to pick up a damned book every now and then, and KNOW our history, and geography, and about the constitution and economics. At the very least we need to not be total dumbasses like the average american in that video.

Oh btw... every time I see Frank Luntz, I think of Joseph Goebbels. Am I the only one? I mean Luntz is one diabolical propagandist.
