I just read a post about changing the country with 30 people. Rather than responding to that, I thought that this merited a new thread. Though it is similar, I think that it addresses things at an even more local level. This is what each and every one of you can and should be doing right now. These things will have impact and can be influential over the next few months while the war is raging, the revolution is growing and our country's future hangs in the balance.

Imagine, the hundreds of thousands of Ron Paul supporters out there all involved. We can't all be running for Congress or the Senate, and we don't need to, we can do something right here and now, without the big money. All it will take on your and my part is the time to become educated and the willingness to get out of our homes and do something.

I, too, have been very frustrated at all the corruption and the seeming impossibility to see anything change. I was talking to my father-in-law about this and he reminded me (after being involved in politics at the grassroots level for some 40 years) that things change one person at a time, starting at the lower levels. We may think that we have to jump right in to the senate or congressional races, but the truth of the matter is, we don't!

Public offices are fairly easy to obtain, especially if you are a good public speaker and are willing to do your homework and answer things from an educated viewpoint. This, too, is not the point.

If you go to town meetings and county boards and start paying attention to resolutions being passed and find out when an illegal bill is before the legislature and start bombarding your senator with letters and phone calls, not just from you but from others in your community (this is where the Ron Paul support network and meet up groups can really have an impact) then our elected officials must respond. You do have power, even at the small levels.

Consider also, writing editorials. If you use good logic and argumentation and your grammar is good (refraining from gushing emotion) then you stand a chance to get it published - realizing all the while that the editorial page is the most read page of the newspaper.

Folks, we can do something and we must! These are things that you can start doing immediately. Even if you are not a delegate, even if you aren't a precinct captain, or chairman, your responsibility is to be educated and blow the whistle on those who would slip illegal legislation through.

- Become familiar with the Constitution.

- Read Robert's Rules of Order.

- Look up your county and local GOP - find out when their meetings are and make it a point to attend. Also find out what legislation is on the docket so that you can know of it ahead of time and come prepared with counter resolutions, amendments, etc.

Don't be discouraged - for the revolution to start swinging wildly in our favor, it must begin this way, and doing the things outlined above is one of the most tangible evidences to the folks around us (regardless of whether or not the MSM covers it) that the Revolution is real and many more folks than just a handful here and there are unhappy with the status quo!

Press on!

Very nice post and so true. Just got back from my County GOP Convention with other Dr. Paul supporters. They were truly happy to see many new and young faces.
If we truly care then we must work at every level from local to national.

Hey you've got a great gift of writing my friend.

For kicks last night I attended the local Republican Lincoln Days Dinner. At first I thought it would be a good waste of $30. Without really trying I met some important people.

One of the speakers made some humble comments... something about how "the party" has strayed from it's roots.... go figure...!!!

I think you make some excellent points here. It is definitely important to see what is going on at the local level. Eventually, things will start to trickle up. Only good will come the more we pay attention to. And thats the first step, to start to pay attention!
