Yard Signs at Polling Stations!

My friends Mark & Linda Ferguson & I just spent 2 hours putting Ron Paul yard signs in front of every polling station in Clearwater, FL this morning! GO RP2012!

Central time zone here.. Crestview Florida, I voted at 9AM - poling place almost 8 miles from the house...and the one and only sign at our polling place (district 8) said only one word on it.. Newt. I posted to our local meetup group hoping someone would show up with a few signs. Hubby will go to vote later and see if any showed up..

Do they have to be a certain distance from the polling area?

They had signs leading up to our polling place. Something along the lines of "No further assistance or political activity beyond this point."

There is a yardage requirement - not sure what the actual number is but the polling place is about 2 blocks set back off a main road, which is where the signs generally get displayed.

I put a sign at my precinct after asking the poll person where the designated area was. He said it had to be 100ft away from the door which was marked by a sign. I drove past an hour later and saw that someone had put a second sign. When I drove by again after a few hours, the signs were gone. I asked if the guy outside knew what happened to my signs, he said yes and pointed to a sign that read "no campaign signs on government property" (a county park.) He said they were mistaken and had to pull them. I asked for my signs back and he dug them out of the trash barrel, so I put them in my yard across the street from the precinct.
