WV Not Good!

Huckabee 375
McCain 176
Paul 118
Romney 464

Ron Paul will be eliminated from the next round of voting. I have no idea how the next vote will go. Do Ron Paul supporters walk out?

I would guess the Ron Paul delegates get to be the kingmakers now.:D

This is a real taste of a real brokered national convention.

Ron Paul got enough votes to make or break another candidate.

And, I don't see Mccain winning in this state. I would be very surprised.

If Huck's mission was to bleed votes from Romney, it's failing here in his own territory.

One thing, though. The Ron Paul delegates are being forced to vote for someone else in the next round because this is a game of attrition until someone gets the majority.

I know that unless the rules forced them, they would not vote for another candidate, and I'm wondering if that will be the case in the National Convention. Will they be able to hold their ground in the national convention and not vote for anyone else if they so choose?

You can see here that delegates are more important than votes.

How are they being forced? I don't see anyone with a gun to their head.

There are four candidates. If no one gets a majority, such as happened here, they take off the bottom candidate (rp), and go through a second round of voting.

I assume they will be pressured to vote for another candidate now, although maybe they can stand aside. I don't know the rules on that.

But they can no longer vote for ron paul.

That's what I meant.

Stream to see the Caucus?

Go to the dailypaul.com and pick up the link there to W. Virginia.

Right now it's gone dark because they are taking an hour for lunch.

They will be back sometime around 1:30 est.

It's a shame because we were within striking distance of Mccain who came in number 3.

I was hoping we'd make the second round.

So which candidate will approach Ron and what they will offer? Ron can make or break the winner. Hows that for irony? After all of the disrespect, its up to us. Let them beg for our votes. So do we deal and get something out of this or stand firm? Hmmm.....

I can't stand McStain...ANYONE BUT HIM!

That seems to be W. Virginia's opinion, too, so far.

I bet there's a lot of heavy brokering going on during lunch.

But, I noticed that the local media there announced that Mccain had sent the delegates a fax promising them something, although I didn't hear what it was. He held up the fax. rofl.

Hmm well which one is willing to concede the most to our platform?

Give us back the Constitution.
Give us back habeaus corpus.
Bring the troops home.
I suppose sound monetary policy is too much to ask.

And so on...

Dr. Paul is there. I hope he's having fun. :D

My guess is Romney will definitely chum up to RP supporters. Huckabee probably will too. I wouldn't trust either one of them to deliver, and I'd be very worried that Huckabee will throw his support to McCain when this gets to the national convention.

If Huckabee loses here in his home territory to a Yankee, no less, I would guess he's on his way to being out.

When Huck withdraws form the race...McCain auto-receives his delegates...so McCain people will move to Paul over lunch.

I don't think it works that way. Ron Paul is not a choice in the next round of voting.

Whoever offers to send the most of our delegates to the convention should get our vote here... yes?

I hope that is what they are discussing right now. That is our barganing chip.
