Huckabee is McCain's lapdog and the RP supporters should have made a deal with the Romney camp. Romney needed to win a southern state to remain credible in this campaign and our guys may have inadvertently prevented a brokered convention.

Now that Huckabee is backing out of the 3 delegate deal we know that it was a mistake from the get go but I wish they had played their cards differently.

Personally I think we should hound Huckabee like we hounded Guiliani until he gives us our 3 delegates.

Nice Christian ethics. I wish his supporters could see through this guy. Ron Paul would have never have lied and schemed like that.

I agree, these delegates are appointed Ron Paul delegates. He shouldn't think for a minute that we will not hold to the media reports, the actual delegate testimony to hold him accountable.

I was there, this was the best deal we could get, and we received 3 delegate slots. The Huckabee camp approached us as equals, even introducing the people we'd replace. They had a couple people who weren't going to be able to go to MN in Sept anyway.

Now it could have been a setup, Romney offered us the same thing, but the Romney people were hard party activists, I did not forsee them convincing 3 of their people to resign, and huck was willing to introduce us to at least 2 that would need alternates anyway. And the Huck supporters were more grassroots types like us. Easier to convert.

Don't bother the Huckabee camp just yet, this all happened very fast, the national press people may not know, and it just hit MSNBC. The deal was made in the hallway in front of at least 50 paul supporters and Huckabee/Romney/Paul staff. I think this is just a case of a state guy making deals and national not being happy about it later, but let us handle it here, the huck camp is like us, mostly grassroots, and I figure they're playing it down nationally because they didn't offer the Mccain people any delegates, rpobably because almost all of them were Guiliani people.
