Article focuses on dem candidates' lack of fiscal prioritization, but mentions "Republicans." Read it and weep.

WHO IS RON PAUL?!!!!
A candidate who seriously addressed this "boomsday" scenario, as author Christopher Buckley dubbed it, would no doubt be pilloried by a phalanx of candidates content with peddling pleasant illusions. But he or she would also gain instant credibility and widespread attention. Such a candidate would also satisfy a hunger on the part of voters for candor and pragmatism, and could argue that fiscal responsibility would be a winning issue in the general election. And, oh yes, that candidate would be doing the right thing to avoid burdening future generations.

The Republican field is only slightly more communicative [than the Democrats] on budget balancing, with Fred Thompson and John McCain taking the lead....

Truth-telling on fiscal responsibility is just as scarce on the Republican side, but it's striking that Democrats, as the out party with a budgetary track record it could build on, shy away from the issue.

USA Today: Democratic candidates duck tough 'boomsday' choices

OMFG.

Sometimes I ask myself you cannot possibly be serious. The only person on either side that has committed to ending our empire, and slashing whole unconstitutional programs from the budget is somehow lumped in with "the rest stuck on meaningless platitudes about line-item vetoes and tax cuts that pay for themselves"

Where is John Stossel when you need him.

Give Me a Break.

HAH. That was a wonderful work of fiction, I wonder how much Fred & John paid for that free advertising.

LOL. Seriously. Sometimes things get so ludicrous you have to just have a good laugh.

That's ridiculous. Better yet, there's no info on who wrote it at all. Talk about transparency.

There are so many things wrong in the journalism of _just this sentence_. Wow.

This stuff outrages me...

Ron cured my apathy, but he didn't cure my rage problem.
