Did anyone watch it?

He was talking about the FREE MARKETS, pre-Teddy Roosevelt.

Wow, just wow.

I'm convinced he knows RON PAUL will be the GOP nominee and he's heading him off at the pass.

Heard it in the background here at work. It did strike a little bit of a chord with me that he was railing against a lot of what I believe - though he is railing against the misconceptions of the free market.

Some quotes:

Obama compares current economy to Great Depression

(CNN) - President Barack Obama said Tuesday that economic inequality in America is at "a level we haven't seen since the Great Depression" and "hurts us all."

"When middle-class families can no longer afford to buy the goods and services that businesses are selling, it drags down the entire economy, from top to bottom," Obama said in a speech pushing for Congress to approve provisions of his jobs package.

"Inequality also distorts our democracy," he continued, sounding a theme expressed by Teddy Roosevelt in a speech more than a century earlier. "It gives an outsized voice to the few who can afford high-priced lobbyists and unlimited campaign contributions, and runs the risk of selling out our democracy to the highest bidder. And it leaves everyone else rightly suspicious that the system in Washington is rigged against them - that our elected representatives aren't looking out for the interests of most Americans."

Obama said that congressional Republicans "want to go back to the same policies that have stacked the deck against middle-class Americans for too many years."

"Their philosophy is simple: We are better off when everyone is left to fend for themselves and play by their own rules," Obama said in a speech pushing for passage of provisions of his jobs package. "Well, I'm here to say they are wrong."

Sounding a theme from a speech more than a century earlier by Teddy Roosevelt, Obama said: "I'm here to reaffirm my deep conviction that we are greater together than we are on our own."

"I believe that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, and when everyone plays by the same rules," he said. "Those aren't Democratic or Republican values; 1% values or 99% values. They're American values, and we have to reclaim them."

He was deriding them..as in CHILD LABOR, LOW WAGES, etc...and then Teddy Roosevelt came and saved the day!!! (Remember, Newt likes to claim to be like Teddy Roosevelt). I think Obama WANTS Gingrich to be the nominee, but is afraid it might be RP.

I made sure to send a Twitter to Limbaugh that even OBAMA knows Ron Paul is going to be the nominee..LOL

This is just a sign of what Obama will be saying when he's facing Ron. Hope the campaign is taking notes.

Wait, did he actually address Ron Paul and his views personally or just the Republicans in general?

I long for the day when Paul can peel Obama apart like an onion.

Obama was in Osawatomie? I live like an hour from there and hadn't heard anything of this lol. Then again, it's Kansas... we haven't gone democrat since 1964, so I think it's odd he would come here.

Of course he didn't say RON PAUL, but he was talking about "some" who think the free market is the way to go. Who else do you know that truly believes that? Not Newt, not Romney...

i think you're reading too much into this. Democrats say stuff like that all the time, he's not referring to Ron Paul.

I woke up because i heard him going on about Free Markets, then i kept listening and almost spit my coffee out... I was totally thinking the same thing... HE is already attacking/campaigning against RP. Glad you guys caught on too.

And yea, it was an attack on all the misconceptions of a free market... But those ignorant audience members were eatin that shit up. That's even more concerning.

2012 Presidential Election : "Battle of the Ideologies" lol

Ron needs to make a counter statement.

This is a PRIME opportunity to make this race about Paul and Obama.

I agree he needs to do what Mitt tried to do earlier in the race and that's ignore the Republicans and start attacking Obama, making it Obama vs Paul
