Would you vote for McCain/Ron Paul ticket?

What in the world does that accomplish?

Obama and Clinton have plans of massively expanding the role of federal government in our lives, including among MANY ideas, bailing out homedebtors. McCaine is far more fiscally conservative.

Yes, it would prove that I misjudged McCain, or that he's seen the light. No chance it will happen though.

This gang kills less people than that gang. At the end of the day, both are gangs.

If you are content voting against the OP's hypothetical McCaine/RP ticket, then that's your decision.

If you believe that all of RP's supporters support him for the same reasons that YOU do, then you are wrong.

My interest in supporting RP developed when I discovered that RP is a follower of the Austrian school of economics. In the OP's hypothetical scenario, a McCaine/RP ticket would be superior to me over a McCaine/SOMEBODY ELSE scenario or any combination of Clinton with/or Obama tickets.

You are very typical of the people in the GOP. You're heart is in the right place, but you forget that every Republican, especially Bush, has grown the government! They are supposed to be fiscally conservative, but look where we are at now. My Dad loves Ron Paul, but will vote for whoever the GOP nominates because of thoughts like yours. I stand on principal and will only vote for people with the voting record and morals of Ron Paul.

In this hypothetical scenario then, do you suggest I vote for Obama with/or Clinton instead of McCaine/RP?

While neither ticket would be as good, in my opinion, as a RP as president ticket, the GOP ticket would still be better than a democratic one.

While Republicans have been failing to manage the economy for DECADES (along with Democrats), the current proposals of Clinton and Obama are shockingly socialist. Obama's plans with CEO salaries and windfall profits taxes are far more socialist than ANY democratic presidential candidate's proposals in the past 3 decades that I can remember.

That was my first thought. But until we get the general public behind his ideas, an accidental RP presidency would be a disaster. The political powers that be would tear him to shreds.

I disagree that an accidental presidency would be a disaster. As President Ron could do a lot of things such as reversing previous Executive Orders. His pardoning power would be fantastic. He could effectively abolish the IRS by simply granting a blanket pardon to anyone in the country who does not want to pay. Let it be truly voluntary. As Commander in Chief he could order the removal of troops all around the world. There are many things that he could do. And I believe that we would be better off with a Ron Paul Presidency, even if it is accidental.

I absolutely agree. It is NOT a disaster to have Ron Paul in the White House as VP. I would rather fight for that chance than to just have him as a Republican Representative. RP could be one of the most important VP's ever, even without an accidental presidency.

Ron Paul IS running third party.

He'll be on the ballot under "write-in". Trust me, he'll be there. If you don't see his name type his full name and click "next" and it should find it.

You are living in fantasyland.

McCain is 100% a puppet of Ron Paul's mortal enemies.

A McCain / Paul ticket would never happen in a trillion years.

I said it wouldn't happen in my post. He may be a tool, but even tools have enough thinking capacity to recognize when someone is right. McCain has said nice things about Ron Paul in the past, so he knows Ron gets alot right. That's all I'm saying. They disagree on alot, but McCain damn well knows Ron is the most fiscally conservative in the party. Again, McCain is a douchebag and puppet-tool but even he knows Ron is admirable and respectable. So before you're so quick to jump and criticize, why not read the entire post.

While all 3 must bow to special interests, they still have differences that are important to me. I would love to see RP run third party as I would easily vote for RP, but I would not vote for any other third party candidate.

They don't bow to special interests. The special interests made them what they are. They each appeal to different segments of the population, but will lead them all to exactly the same place.

the only way I would vote for that ticket is if it was discovered that mccain had some incurable condition from which he would not be able to serve even 1 full term. maaaaaaybe then

YES, IF McCain soon after winning the election took up hang-gliding and/or bungee jumping every weekend.
