Keeping in mind that if Romney is nominated on the first vote, we should have 5 states able to nominate a VP candidate. All the delegates won't have Romney to vote for anymore. (Paul/Santa/Grinch/Other?). What might that vote be like?

Paul also indicated that he and Romney had become friends. Romney knows that if he wants a second term, he needs to to fix the economy. To do that he needs Paul. He's been stealing his lines, policy positions and parts of his ideology all election and to an extent last election. Paul would have a lot of influence as VP. That office has been getting more powerful in recent decades. Hell, Chesny(sp?) was unilaterally implementing policy without consulting Bush.

The VP is a member of the joint chiefs of staff.

This could still be a good win for us. Who would vote for that ticket?

Ron Paul is too principled to accept VP, Rand could do it, but Ron isn't going to be Romeny's VP.

Would I vote for Mitt Romney/Rand Paul?

No.

Principled? Right now he's beneath the Senate, the SC and Obama/VP/Executive branch. Technically, at the top of his branch, but he's still not at the top of the food chain.

Nope. Because the Doctor would have no power to direct things. VP is a powerless position.

Lesseeeeee....

In '08 Ron Paul avoids McCain like the plague that he is and the liberty movement grows....

So, Ron Paul accepting a job as side kick to Obamney would likely fracture the movement and set it back at least 5 years -probably mostly destroying it alltogether.....

I think you should just ask Ron Paul about this, and when you do, mention that I would not vote for Romney in any way, shape, or form.

Ron will understand.

Would you sit shotgun in a Bugatti Veyron, with your drunk friend driving, when he has a history of car wrecks at high speeds?

No?

Then why would you want to sit shotgun, in regards to the presidency?

I will admit that I voted yes, but I can explain myself. The conditions are the Paul is Ron, not Rand, and Romney actually has to pick Ron as a VP, which will never happen ever (just like me voting for Romney). So basically, I voted in a poll question that posed a paradox for a paradox answer.

Clarification. Romney/Ron Paul? Yes. Because the only way that could possible happen is for Romney to move to Ron's viewpoint on key issues. While I could vote for Rand as president, I couldn't vote for him as VP without someone like Ron heading the ticket.

Of course. It would show the GOP that reaching out to us (in this case, in a BIG way) helps them. If we wouldn't even support the GOP with a Paul vice president, they would see no reason to ever care about us again.

I voted for McCain when I hated the guy just because of Palin. I never voted Republican before but I had to vote for Palin. She's the best this country has. If the Convention selects Ron Paul for Vice-President, then as difficult as it would be I'll have to grab my right hand with my left one and vote for Ron Paul for VP which regretfully will vote for Romney. But I will not listen to Romney unless Ron Paul stands by his side.

I prefer a brokered convention where Sarah Palin / Rand Paul ticket would emerge and bye bye Obama.

But Ron Paul would absolutely fix our country for good if he won the presidency.

Not only would I vote for a Romney/Paul ticket (either Paul btw), I would canvas every Saturday between now and November and phone bank every free night of the week.

Four years ago, most voters didn't even have a clue who Ron Paul was. To go from there to having a Paul on the ticket it just four years is monumental for the liberty wing of the party.

WHOA! Did you seriously just say that Sarah Palin is the best this country has? I'm sorry, but that's probably the most absurd thing I've heard in quite some time.

No. I would feel betrayed if Ron even considered it. But it won't happen so it's a moot point.
