Sadly, I don't think many people would pay attention. . . they would channel flip.

That said, back in 2007/2008 we had a full page ad on USA Today that was absolutely awesome. And the thing cost less than $200k IIRC. All of this was banked by one single extremely generous supporter.

This could be a good strategy for Florida - lots of retirees who still read newspapers. Then again, direct mail is probably cheaper. . .

I read your post, and I thought, HEY, I remember that guy's name vaguely, but forgot it. I went back to the forum, next thread I read was a Yahoo News article, I clicked that, and BAM written by LOU LIPPINCOTT (That's the guy)

Pretty weird.

EDIT: It's not the guy, I'm an idiot

I think it's a bad idea because it will cost too much and not the right people will watch it or endure it.

This sounds like the blimp idea from 4 years ago. Obviously most people will vote "yes its a great idea" because it will help us. The question is not will it help us, the question is what's the bang for the buck, and considering running 60-second ads in 1 state for a week cost us $250,000, I don't think you can do a 30-minute national time slot for any decent amount of money.

If you were going to do a time-slot like this, then definitely do it for a select few states, but even then, I would wager that the campaign can use the money more effectively in other ways.
