If RP does not secure the nomination at brokered convention, not only i will not vote for McCain, i will go against him by voting for his opponent i.e. democrat nominee. YES! call me whatever you want! i do not want a warmonger to be my president and i want the GOP to shit in their pants since they pick a nominee more liberal than the democratic nominee.

give a shout out in this thread if you feel like i do.

I'm very torn.

I want to "make a difference" with my vote. Writing in Ron Paul in CA just means my ballot gets tossed unread. Voting for Hillbama makes a statement.

The GOP is done already with 1/5th the turnout of the Dems...

If you guys think Obama is going to be better than Mccain.... you guys have got another thing coming to you.

IMO, Ron Paul write in.

I'm going to do this, or vote 3rd party if someone reasonable is running. My state goes Democratic pretty much 100% of the time, so my vote in the general is pretty much for giggles.

Anyways, I was thinking about this on my way to work. Since we have a large group of people without representation, why not start a "Lesser of two evils is still evil" group or PAC or something.

Write in RP.. Obama or Hillary will beat McCain anyway without us. It'll be a landslide.

If you vote for the democratic nominee no one will ever know you would have voted Republican. The only possible way to send a message to the Republican party is to write in Ron Paul. Those votes will be counted and the Republicans will know exactly what that vote means.

If you vote for any other candidate they will think your vote was a vote they never could have had in the first place. In other words, they will continue to think their way is the right way.

We need to write in Ron Paul -- it will help later down the road. Any of the other candidates won’t matter. They are all the same to some degree and Congress will run the show. I just wish we had an insider to the Dems to know what mud they will be slinging at McCain so we can use it now rather than after (if he is the nominee that is) which and hope, pray will not be the case and am fighting against.

The old media is supporting him so you know he does not have a chance, in their minds, to beat the dems. It will be a full on attack from many sides.

OK. granted that this is at least a good and valid point worth considering.

But i would think McCain suffering a devastating defeat is also a strong message of the failure of GOP

It's still too early for me to make up my mind.
I will fight toot and nail for RP until the day he says "enough", but if it looked like McCain might win I would vote O'bilary. If it was a clear-cut landslide I would vote for the most viable third-party/Indy candidate if they talked sense, or write in RP as a protest vote.

Also remember: write-ins aren't usually counted seperately but are all lumped under "other"

I can't understand all this talk of voting against someone. If you are a Dr. Paul supporter you should write him in. There is no section of the voting ballot that lets you choose who you DON'T want to be president.

he'll still go down in defeat... we're really at LEAST 20% of the party, and a good portion of dems will flee the party and vote for RP over Hillary. I GUARANTEE IT

I will write in Ron Paul. Nomination or Write in He has my vote.
I can not vote for McCain.
I will not vote Democrat.

If McCain is Nominated the democrats will win the election.
He could not stand up to either one of them in a debate. He is an idiot. They will chew him up and spit him out.

Or several million could write in Ron Paul, and take the country back.
Can you say mandate.?
