Would we want his Endorsement?

I don't think it's a good idea at all for the primary. The general, maybe, but that is a long way away.

We want everyone's endorsement.

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Freedom is popular, take every endorsement you can get, and Snoop's would help in the primaries.

i dont understand why people are worried about endorsements from unorthodox people.an endorsement doesnt mean ron paul endorses them!

Speaking of endorsements by people in the hip-hop community though, I think we're doing okay, especially compared to any other Republican campaign. We've got Prodigy on board, KRS One has made overtures, and quite possibly the only (or at least the most prominent) libertarian rapper, Neema Vedadi, is an avid supporter.

Let me try to get this straight. One one hand, when it comes to a violent racist black rapper endorsing Ron Paul, many of you can't wait for his endorsement. On the other hand when a White nationalist, who simply promotes White Pride endorses Ron Paul, you all panic. Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

BTW, this is a video of Snoop Dogg a few weeks ago........

Maybe because the media wouldn't distort it to say Ron Paul is a reverse racist (with Snoop), while they will try to paint Ron Paul as a racist or question him about their support when he gets support from white racists (we saw this with John King a few days ago).

Personally it wouldn't make a difference to me, but if he did it in the primary it would just allow the media to push the Ron Paul supporters are just a bunch of pot heads narrative. Plus it doesn't really help the campaign much, the weakness is with older voters, not young ones.

Bumping!!

Look who just posted this pic on his Facebook!!

His mind just gets worse and worse. Needs to lay off the pipe.

Such a bad influence on African American children. Teaching them to smoke and talk wrong.

The only way this would help in the primary is if it actually leads to new voters in open-states coming out for us.

The picture however is not good.. lol, I hope no one outside of facebook regulars sees it.

The general rule is that endorsements can only help. People aren't going to decide not to vote for someone because of the endorsement of someone they don't like, and they probably won't vote FOR them either just because of the endorsement either, but might at least do some more research or keep an open-mind about it. Of course, this is ignoring any possible media spin on the story.

I'm not going to say I agree with Snoop Doggy Dogg's lifestyle, but I will say that white americans love snoop doggy dogg, and they love cool black people, even straight white republicans want to rap in a dorky white person way. Blame the media, whatever, bottom line, Snoop is good for the campaign and we should be "down with this". Snoop Doggy Dogg is about the most mainstreamed rapper ever by this point in history. Sure, he says vile stuff, but we have a vile disgusting culture, and mostly he just says silly stuff that is funny and amusing.

Remember, we have a cool young hip black president, not because people even know a single thing about his issues, but because of Bill Cosby and the fresh prince of bel air and this friendly likable cool black friend meme, so this is good for us. Incidentally, I'm thinking Snoop Doggy Dogg is a single issue voter, if he voted, which I'm pretty positive he doesn't.

What makes you "pretty positive" he doesn't vote? Snoop is actually somewhat active in many things such as politics, the medical industry, and travels all over doing fundraisers for Lupus research (which his daughter has)

Mostly because he's a celebrity with millions of dollars, so it would be a major PITA. All he has to do is say you guys should vote for x, and 80,000 would in the blink of an eye. I'm guessing most celebrities don't bother voting, cause, really, it probably won't affect their lives of luxury whoever wins. Plus, he smokes weed everyday. If you're a rich celebity in America and you're stoned by 9am, I'm guessing the last thing you want to do is go down to some crummy voting station, stand in line, and cast your lone vote.
