to give out Ron Paul slim jims with the Halloween candy? What are the chances that it might piss off more parents than it'll convert?

You could definitely deck out your pad with Ron Paul posters, signs, whatever's legal (patriotic-theme Halloween decorations??), then be one of those "generous and memorable givers" of candy. Maybe that'll get some more hits on the campaign site when families get back home? Just a thought.

I have my RP yard sign out and plan to do some streamers n' stuff. I'm usually one of the more generous basket fillers in the neighborhood anyway.

That's the best idea.

I would have hated campaign crap in my candy bag as much as I hate little kids with UNICEF boxes now. Halloween = candy, nothing more (unless you believe in it of course...)

Hmmm..... what about wearing a costume ... quasi moto ... and handing out flyers and candy by "reverse" trick or treating ... with a note attached to the slim jim that says (to the effect) ... "Want the government off YOUR back? Vote for Ron Paul!"

(I'm feeling silly ...)

Throw a patriot party, everyone dress up as 1776 continental, french, tory, hessian, redcoat, or founding father.

:)

I definitely think dressing up the kids in patriotic outfits, hell, dessing up YOURSELF in patriotic outfits and trick or treating while dropping off campaign info would be good.

I think handing it out would be ok too, as long as it is accompanied with alot of good candy. Dum Dum pops and Tootsie Rolls aren't going to buy you anything but an egged house.

You could also get some Ron Paul stickers printed on reflective paper and hand it out for safety ... lol... imagine all the kiddos walking the streets with their reflective stickers so cars can see them, all advertising for RP...

Hmmm maybe not. But it sounds good anyway :-)

My guide line on passing out things is: How would I feel if someone gave me Guiliani flyers, now that's SCARY!!

That's a cute idea. If I had kids, I'd go with them and hand out info.

We do a haunted house every year, and it's expected... so we have to stick with that. A lot of parents come through with the kids though, so we'll probably give them lit.

And the past 2 years we've handed out glow necklaces along with the candy (parents get a necklace and LOVE them, and the kids get a necklace and candy.) I'm going to see if I can find someone to print an RP logo on them for this year. The leftover would work well for concerts and stuff too.

Do it. Just don't list your adress, name or anything on it, so they can't trace it back to you.

My parents always handed out those Christian comic "Chick-Tracks" along with candy on halloween.
