if it were Chris Hightower running for State Rep?

I'm trying to convince him. I think he'd be excellent.

Yes. He'll have somewhat of an uphill battle at first due to the inevitable attacks, but they would blow over rather quickly. If he's got the opportunity to run in a good district, I'd support him.

We need to support him if he runs. Take Back Kentucky and Gun groups will.

Any idea what the district looks like?

I wish Rand would disregard his non-endorsement courtesy and turn KY into a real free state project. But, alas..

My liberty candidate that I am working on is Marc Scaringi for Senate for PA. Nothing would make me happier than having my own Ron Paul Republican senator. Kentucky gets all the fun because they have Rand. I want my own liberty senator!

I'm support of all liberty candidates and would surely support him as well.

Hightower was a great help to Rand's campaign I understand. I don't know how much monetary support I could give; but I'd support him in whatever other ways I could.

I have spoken to Chris before and was a help to rand but that whole fallout over a comment on his myspace during the Rand campaign would probably hurt him and might be difficult to overcome. I think it was stupid to begin with since it was someone else commenting on his myspace but it is something to consider.

It could be a political barrier given demagogues but it is a stupid thing to consider an 'issue', imho.

Can state reps form 'exploratory committees'? If so, he could run it up the flagpole...

It is true that people are kind of stretched on Ron's campaign, but how much does a state rep need to run a campaign?

I tried getting everyone here to support Phil Moffett when he ran for governor. No one was interested here.

I enjoyed getting to talk to Chris a number of times during the early going of Rand's Primary campaign. To those who don't know I think we could safely say he was on the ground floor in Rand's endeavor. He struck me as someone very knowledgeable regarding history, government matters, the Constitution etc. If he has a good explanation, mea culpa, apology, whatever, regarding what was posted on a Myspace or Facebook account I believe that could be put in the rear view mirror. Hey, if Robert Byrd got elected....
Seriously, I'd certainly like to see him run as I believe he would be about protecting individual rights and less government.
Good luck!

Edit: would like to also mention, we can thank Chris for those youtubed speeches in the early going of Rand's campaign.

One big difference is Hightower is one of us. He isn't just some tea-party guy. He's a Ron Paul guy like all of us.

I think Scaringi is the best choice.

He is going to have a tough battle. Rohrer has good name recognition and Welch reported a million cash on hand recently.

Since you mentioned it. Phil's Campaign manager was the one who floated the Hightower story to the press that got him fired. Now you will understand why we had issues.

Chris helped Rand so much prepare for the issues.
