This 35 million dollar island off the coast of mexico (35,000 acres)! 25,000 acres is equivalent to the size of Walt Disney World which is roughly twice the size of Manhattan or the size of San Francisco

No... absolutely not. The strength of this campaign is it's diversity of ideas. I'm a pro-life libertarian as well and I recognize that we can deal with this by dividing the island into segments... where each group can make their own rules... essentially I'll advocate for a republic. Semi-sovereign states within the larger island.

I was thinking like the US, a Central Government that could provide for our common defense, commerce regulations, what it says in the Constitution. The islands themselves could decide the rest.

P.S. We're heading for a tropical paradise, right?

Yeah.. back in the pioneer days this sort of idea was actually possible. As such if we actually transported the RP rEVOLution somewhere the problem would be overpopulation. An island would be too small to sustain us.

Making money is easy... Data Warehousing, Banking, Tourism, Casinos... Take a look at what all of the other Island communities do. Model your economy after the Cayman Islands...

Anybody half-serious with this idea??? Because I'm really liking it... and I'm betting we could get a ton of Europeans in on it too. Especially the Pirate Bay guys. Maybe... we need several different things

1. Abundant supply of fresh water
2. Land that will produce crops
3. Somewhat flat so we can actually build buildings and dwellings for people at a price that isn't way prohibitive.
4. Proximity to Mainland, so we can trade goods and have a broadband hookup.

We also need to be innovative when it comes to electricity. There are options ... at first we could purchase power from the mainland, while we build a sustainable energy source... I'm thinking renewable energy.

They didn't have to... They had home field advantage, and the source of the tyranny was located half a world away, at a time when trans-oceanic navigation could take months.

They were also surrounded by like-minded people, or at least, people not hostile to the notions of liberty and self-sufficiency.

Think about this... We could skip out on the National Debt! Woo-hoo!
