Worried about CFL Members

I've noticed that there was a huge spike when it first started when we recruited 60,000 within the first few days but now I've noticed it's been hovering in the 65000 for the past week, has the membership rate died down?! At this rate will we meet 100,000 by September? I already joined and am optimistic about its effect on politics however I am starting to wonder if the rate of new members is starting to die down...

What do you think. Can we make it?

If you haven't joined already, make a difference and sign up!

???

Um, was the link your tag-line or was that your post?

I know that the counter is at 67,000 now but what I'm asking is do you think we will make it on time? Will it matter much if we fall short? I'm sure 67,000 people would a hell of an impression but I'm hoping to god we can get 100,000 before the CFL rally I'm just wondering others' opinions on whether this goal can be reached on time. Personally, I feel I'm not promoting it as much as I should...

Just thought i'd help out by posting the link to the CFL site.

Usually when i make a post on something relevant on an issue, i post a link to help those who may not know, how to find it, thus 'maybe' getting more people involved.

I just call it good 'netiquette;...lol!

I read somewhere on here that there were only around 60,000 people on the official RonPaul2008 mailing list. Complicating matters is the fact that The RonPaul2008 PCC cannot share its mailing list with CfL, and is not allowed to post a link to CfL on the RonPaul2008 web site. So in other words, in order to get 100,000 we have a lot of evangelism to do. Make sure all existing Ron Paul supporters know about CfL and sign up, and then go find new people to sign up as well.

I've read and seen RP say that he has 400,000 names on the Ron Paul 2008 mailing list. You're right that it can't be used in conjunction with the CfL though. Probably McCain and that terrible campaign finance "reform" bill (really an incumbent protection law).

I can think of a couple of reasons why signs up may be low. First, there's not much content. I understand it's in beta, and I signed up, but some people will take a "wait and see" approach. I hope they at least add a little more to it prior to the launch at the convention.

Second, there's no option to not display your name and home town on the widget. I didn't care but this might be an issue with some people. I would think that would be an easy fix.

I was thinking about doing posting some flyers at my college but I tried posting RP Flyers there and they were all taken down.

I was saying this at the beginning of this effort, we ALL know how many ACTIVE people we have as well as those who will try and bump the numbers with multiple sign ups OR the 7 people who live in one place but only 1 person is active.

For us to get to 100k it will take "boots on the ground" so to speak educating people and getting them active, not simply for ron paul but for the constitution itself. It really needs to move passed ONE presidential effort so those who dont like ron paul for one reason or another can get educated without being sold on a presidential candidate, or at least in their eyes.

I think it will be hard to get to 100k if we all wait for it to happen, we need to pump it up like we did the first money bombs and really get active LOCALLY.

There is a cfl meet up in my county ..I already joined..but they don't seem to be doing anything on the local level..no meetings etc. I got something about minnesota ...but that's across the globe from me and I'm not goin. tones

It's just a communications medium at the moment. At least they should routinely post on RPF, etc, of the CFL meetup membership... if that an individual's preference of communications.

CFL MEETUP should periodically send a message out at least for a heartbeat to members

Well..they do...but i see no plans for local meetings or events. I think that's really important, rather than just emailing. Maybe they are waiting to see what is going on I don't know. tones

I try to have events for my LP meetup. We have Motion Picture night once a month...etc..next month it's "V for Vendetta" We did it at an art gallery last month, next month at a coffee shop on the beach. TONES

One of the goals of the walk in my sig is to register 10,000 people.

Traditional routes work. Set up a table on a corner somewhere; fly a couple balloons; have some penny treats for kids, some good handouts and decent sign. In a best case scenario you would have wi-net and be able to do direct sign ups. Nothing wrong with building a private list via sign up sheets, though.

onward and forward

good idea

so if ronpaul2008.com is now forwarding to the CFL, does that mean they either found out they could link it, or just said hell they're linking it anyways. i'd love to see them mass email everyone and get them to join. remember how much donations spiked whenever they sent out an email?

Are there any pre-made fliers or handouts specifically for CFL? Then I could be abe to hand them out (as well as anything else that I hand out) that specifically talks about the website and the goals and whatnot.
If not, perhaps someone could make something up... I'm not really good with graphics so the only thing I would do is a word document, which is boring and not really what I'm thinking of.

If there was some kind of flier for CFL that we can all use, that would be great! Ideas?
