Sept 18 (Reuters) - Billionaire Elon Musk has endorsed Republican former President Donald Trump in the race for the White House, but employees at his collection of companies are largely donating to Trump's Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

Workers at Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab have contributed $42,824 to Harris' presidential campaign versus $24,840 to Trump's campaign, according to OpenSecrets, a nonpartisan nonprofit that tracks U.S. campaign contributions and lobbying data.

Employees at Musk's rocket company SpaceX have donated $34,526 to Harris versus $7,652 to Trump. Employees at the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, have donated $13,213 to Harris versus less than $500 to Trump.

Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He backed President Joe Biden in 2020 but has tacked rightward since then. Trump has said that if he wins the Nov. 5 election, he will appoint Musk to lead a government efficiency commission.

Likely Woke Workers.

Musk too.

Opportunist: When lobbyists aren't enough, whatever it takes for a Billionaire to gain a high-level government position.

"Musk, a fake freedom fighter who voted for Biden last election, and ‘owner’ of Starlink, a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX, who works directly with government and CIA, and is an insider, also supports Trump.

As I have eluded to on very many occasions, nothing in politics is organic or coincidence, it is always staged and intentional. Everything going on today is planned, as nothing is what it seems. So-called enemies are suddenly partners, and so-called partners are now claiming to be enemies. Party members are switching teams, in direct contradiction of things they have always claimed in the past. Supposed vehement disagreement is suddenly morphing into unanimity. Pretend opposing forces are now endorsing each other. Do any of you think this is real? If so, consider that you are either completely deluded or have simply lost your mind."

First of all, this guy would gain more credibility if he knew how to use the word, "alluded". Secondly, I've worked with government agencies a ton and this is not my experience at all. They don't act in unison. In fact, they are always fighting against themselves for political advantage over the next guy. What you DO see is that when certain power players have enough pull, the underlings try to curry favor with whatever ideology is in vogue. The LAST thing they want to do is to commit career suicide by going out on a limb or going against the grain.

As for Musk's companies, these are really low numbers. Yeah, he still has a bunch of work to do to clean house - especially at Twitter - but it's not surprising to see people with heavy student loans adopt the ideology of free things.

Clean house? So hiring people based on who they donate to when their endorsed the other team last election cycle is financially efficient how exactly?

1 simple grammatical error = no credibility and must be dismissed.

Trump's entire Pathetic Record = just a mistake and trust the plan.

Got it :up::100:

He certainly hasn't eluded the grammar nazis.

Okay. Now use that to explain a former GOP VP endorsing a Democrat.

None of that addresses the issue. What's before us is extraordinary, and much of it is unprecedented, like that Cheney endorsement is. It's either what you think it is or it's political theater, a soap opera. I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how examining little enforcers from the bureaucracy like a scientist studying rats is going to help us determine which is the case. Musk isn't even a bureaucrat, much less a minor functionary. He's a major league contractor. Even the stuff he sells "directly to the public" just happens to be heavily subsidized.

:)

Diversity in thought is good for any organization. Massie's office, for example, has Ron Paul libertarians all the way to Rand Paul libertarians!

 Not everything in life is a political campaign. I'm willing to bet when Thomas Massie was an engineer nobody at the company he worked cared who donated to who. If Google or Apple were looking to cull everyone who donated to Republicans, or even Elon Musk was culling Republican donors back in 2020, people here would be freaking out.
