Women don't like Paul??!!

I am thinking that he is a bit small and and compared to the others, doesn't look, posture, or play the role of alpha male.

He needs to be more assertive.

Internet users are mostly male? Sorry for the ignorance, but where is THAT figure posted? :P

Have you SEEN John McCain without a shirt on? Holy crapola, the guy has a 23-pack! Seriously though, I'm sure the abortion stance is a significant factor for women. My own sister will NOT consider ANY presidential candidate who is against aboration, PERIOD. I was just being feciscious earlier, lol.

It's the abortion issue, I'm guessing. That's my one major problem with Dr. Paul, but I don't think it's so important that I can't vote for him.

Well, maybe women shouldn't be voting.;)

Just kidding.

Ron Paul's wife needs to get out there and start talking to these women about her husband. That could help.

BTW I never thought that the decision to let women vote would end up being the death knell for liberty in this country... (haha ok I'm kidding...sorta...)

Look...someone may be upset by my saying this, but it is true that some female voters base their vote on looks, whether consciously or not, and they love Huckabee's puppy dog eyes and tone of voice, they love Romney's coif and stern gaze, and they love McCain's reserved anger when he speaks. It really boils down to sexual turn ons and who reminds them of their daddy.

Wtf is that? What planet are you from? There is NOTHING attractive about Huck or McCain. We need a *barf* smilie. Rom's a looker, but that's all.

We don't have the woman vote for several reasons:

1. We have a WOMAN running for President and women are voting for her
2. Other prochoice women are going for Obama
3. Prolife women are going for HUCKABEE
4. Prowar women are voting for another repub

We have a lot of work to do to convince other women. A good start, since we're so emotional and all  is to maybe stop being so presumptious about women on the boards and maybe (to everyone) stop being so negative all the time. I've been a RP supporter since before the FIRST Ames straw poll last spring. I've lurked here and didn't join til this month. Why? Because of what I saw while lurking. All the discord and namecalling is ugly (the word "troll" is way overrated, btw). It may just turn some people (women) away.

It has nothing to do with issues...

It's not even so much his looks...it's his posture and body language

He needs to be much more assertive

If Ron Paul looked like Mitt Romney (the most "alpha male" of all the candidates), even with these "fringe" views, he'd be a clear front runner

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

So what about all those women voting for Hillary?

I'm talking about the Republican voters. Besides, how does a female voter supporting Hillary Clinton really contradict what I said? Many women admit that they would only want a man in the White House, and I suspect that women who strongly identify as feminists would vote for Hillary Clinton.

Has anyone noticed how many elderly women seem to be supporting Hillary Clinton? I think it's because they want to see a female president before they die. Their dying wish is my worst nightmare, as it should be yours.

By the way, being a registered Independent tells you nothing about someone. Look at Bill O'Reilly. Either someone tends to vote Republican or Democratic, and party affiliation is just a formality.

The Republican would have won every presidential election since Nixon if women didn't vote.

Women tend to dislike small government messages.

No, it's dead on. It's just that conservatives don't appeal to women. Yes, we have some great women here who support Ron Paul, but on the average, women do not like conservative, small government messages.

You're right- but it's not because they don't agree with the message of smaller government- it's because women are naturally the "nurturers", the message of free health care for all, and "helping" everyone who needs help SOUNDS like the right thing to do and pulls at the emotions- the problem is that these women aren't educated enough on the reality behind these "free help for all" programs.

Maybe some are scared off because he isn't a militant pro-choice advocate.

I've been pro-choice but I've donated to his Congressional campaigns for years.

Women are more likely than men to be liberal/populist, which is the complete opposite of the conservative/libertarian Paul is. Notice how the country's politics started drifting to the left when women gained the right to vote. All the other GOP candidates are basically varying shades of socialist.
