Just a quick update in case anyone was interested.
I figured out that the lawyer put in the least amount of effort possible. He basically sent me a form letter asking for my insurance company information. I am sure that this was a form letter and that the lawyer spent maybe 2 minutes on. Thus he was not willing to put much effort into it and she was likely not putting any money toward it.
So I responded to him (waiting as long as I could but within the 30 day legally required timeframe) telling him that he had the wrong business, that the business that used to be in my wife's name at the old address had been closed. I was courteous enough to give him the LLC name used for the business at the new address. My main concern at that point was pointing the lawyer at the LLC instead of my wife.
So a few weeks later I received a letter for the LLC. I responded by saying that there was no insurance on the LLC. I again waited the longest amount of time possible.
No response. I figured that the lawyer was going to send some form letters to the insurance company in the hopes of a quick settlement.
Either way, the business is coming to an end so there will be nothing to sue anyway.
