With Huck out, whos coming in?

No chance Christie is coming in for 2012... That's a promise and a guarantee.

Something is up - too much looking "favorable" for RP and liberty.... Not sure what it is yet but so long as everyone continues to work hard for the campaign; we can do some major damage this year with educating more people and winning some primaries.

Yes, I have wondered why Ron Paul is getting so much favorable exposure in the MSM. The president of the United States is determined by the powers at the top, not by voters. Here is what I see. The powers are none other than Wall Street, and Obama is their man. They are determined to put Obama back in for a second term. So, what do you do? You split the Republican Party, and the way the powers at the top will do this is by helping Ron Paul get exposure and have a considerable amount of supporters for his campaign. Ron will be a viable candidate, but they will give the nomination to someone else. And guess what they know about Ron Paul supporters? They know that if Ron doesn't win the nomination, the majority of Ron Paul supporters will not vote for the Republican candidate in the election. All these Republicans that jump over to Ron's camp will be loyal like we all are, and won't vote Republican if Ron loses the nomination. That is a lot of people not voting Republican, and this would guarantee a victory for Obama.

As I mentioned in a different thread, one of Pawlenty, Cain, or Daniels is going to emerge as the "conservative" alternative to Romney if Paul can't do that first. Bachmann won't endanger her congressional seat for a Presidential run with little chance of success, Huntsman is too similar to Romney to be a plausible alternative, Palin is not going to put herself through the scrutinty associated with a national campaign, Trump and Gingrich are DOA with all their baggage, Santorum has a name problem, and Johnson is a social liberal.

Agree completely. There's only enough room for one Anti-Romney and we need to make sure that's us. Gotta get out early with at least a number 2 straw poll showing.

At the recent YAL event with Ron and Glen Bradley at NC State University in Raleigh, NC, I had a chance to speak with Ron at a private reception before the main event. We briefly discussed the opposition candidates, and Ron calmly and confidently predicted that neither Palin nor Huckabee would run. Huck proved him right tonight, and Palin still shows no signs of jumping in.

Ron also said that he's absolutely certain that Bachmann will run.

YUM YUM, good analysis.

If rp doesn't win I will be voting obama. I will not vote for another R who simply gives capitalism a bad name

Also, many of Ron's supporters will vote Libertarian or for the Constitution candidate if Ron doesn't win the nomination.

Who are you guys referring to by they?

Also, there's no reason why Ron Paul should announce his VP pick before he gets the nomination.

Haven't you ever seen Boardwalk Empire? The Elites conspire to influence the elections. Just like we are conspiring to do the same only our motives are vastly different from the GOP elites.

I like playing betting games. Although I agreed with Paul that Huckabee or Palin won't run, I disagree with him on Bachmann. I think she won't run either. It's a fundraising scheme.

First, DO NOT underestimate Herman Cain. He's in town Monday evening. I'll be there to check out what's crowd he gets.

Second, if you listen to what Huck said he left the door wide open to throw his hat in the ring at a future date. He's will likely enter the race after the straw poll in late Sept or early October saying saving the expense of the straw poll.

Be interested in the former ... but highly doubt the latter. As of today, I suspect all Huck's former staff and advisors have flown the coop to other camps and jobs if they haven't already. Too little too late by then. "Leaving it open for a future date" works pretty well for ratings on TV though ...just not for the real world of Presidential politics when you have to have a staff, boots on the ground, and raise the money.

After the straw poll the lesser candidates will have dropped out leaving most of Huck's old people available to work for him. With his announcement they're able to work for the summer on another campaign. We'll have to watch and see.

Bachmann will be a thorn in our side. Id rather take my chances with her than Huckleberry though.

Not me. Huck has more of a record of big spending etc to go after. He is definitely politics as usual. I think Bachmann is, on a number of issues, more conservative than Huck. Her organization outside of Minn. is the issue, but if she had Palin's endorsement....

Intrade has Bachmann's running at 70% right now.
