I was among those who personally handed RP lit to Willie. We were front row at one of his concerts, and we had Ron Paul shirts on, RP beach balls flying around the arena, AND personally handed him a War on Drugs card, a mosaic flyer, and a personal letter. He gave us a few winks and thumbs up throughout the night when we released the beach balls, seemingly indicating his support.
And as was already pointed out, he has said that he likes RP. Knowing all of this, let's make an effort to try NOT annoying him or his reps/assistants in our attempts to get an endorsement from him.
I'd suggest stopping the "email Willie" effort immediately, and offer an alternative method of contact: a joint letter from the RP grassroots. We can write something nice and inspiring, like that letter in the endorsement acquisition thread, coupled with a more personal touch, and compile it as a google Doc, allowing any members of the grassroots to edit the letter and sign their names and locations at the bottom.
Give it a few days to circulate and accumulate signatures, then print out a nice hard copy and mail it signature required to his agent/reps.
I think it'd be a lot less annoying, and a stronger show of support than flooding his inboxes. And it would be 100 times more likely to actually get in front of him, whereas emails and regular fan mail letters are read by an assistant. Touring artists generally don't have the time to sit and sort through fan letters, and there is no better way to get a time sensitive letter in front of him.
