It honestly depends on the type of position he's in. If he's anywhere near the money or is able to be doing shady, unethical things like happened in 2012 and causing the campaign issues, then no.

Why? The people who are being divisive are those who are saying that they won't support Rand over something extremely petty. But I just wanted to see how large this group is that won't support Rand because of a petty feud they have with Jesse Benton.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm tired of people trying to use jesse benton to divide us, that got old at least 2 years ago. The discussion and debate was one thing, but with the same issues being rehashed a million times over, and no constructive progression of the discussion, anything further at this point only serves to divide us.

I could care less about the guy. It's the people who are obsessed with Benton to the point where they can't even support the one guy who will bring liberty back to our country who are "divisive." I could care less about a guy called "Jesse Benton" and whether he's part of the campaign or not. I'm not interested either in petty feuds or of being a fan of someone who works for various campaigns. I just want Rand to win the Republican nomination and become President.

I would never donate to the watered down message that does nothing to educate Boobus and only hopes to trick them. I would never donate to the message that some meddling overseas is necessary or even acceptable. So, I wasn't going to donate anyway.

But if Rand turned around and started talking exactly like his father, then I would withhold donating because a certain amount of that money will go into the piece of shit's pocket that sunk Ron's campaign in 2012, made backroom deals with Romney, and denied Ron a speech at the RNC. One Ron Paul speech at the RNC would arguably have done more for the cause of liberty than the entire remainder of Rand's career. But the goal of the campaign at that point wasn't liberty for the people, it was a future career in politics.

Ron was offered a chance to speak at the RNC convention, but only if he endorsed Romney. Obviously he wasn't going to endorse Romney, so he didn't end up speaking at the RNC convention. I don't see what Jesse Benton had to do with that. It was Ron's choice.

I'm not saying that Ron should've endorsed Romney. I didn't vote for Romney and instead voted for Chuck Baldwin on the Kansas Reform Party ticket. But the decision of whether or not to speak at the RNC convention was made by Ron.

Voluntary society right? Freedom to do as you wish, no? I believe that if anyone who lurks or posts and really allows this one individual to limit their involvement at this point should just sit this one out or not go as hard for Rand as they did his father because the announcement seems to be coming in March.

BUT *major emphasis on the but* if the inner workings of Senator Paul's fathers former 50-state grassroots network begins to doubt the Rand campaign as it begins to rev up while retaining not only one, but a few polarizing figures (Benton, Spiker) as referred to in this movement, Where does that put this?

Right back to a Senate re-election campaign and potentially 4 years of another Clinton with a Republican white house. I didn't join this website and learn all of these crucial things for this, nor did I come to promote the perfect candidate, I unfortunately was unable to assist in that.

I was able to read about it through here so I did come here to take reading the experience, and continuing on....to still promote liberty. No one individual, strategy, or back room deal will stop me nor should stop us. Whether with or without this campaign, since we all have the freedom to do so in that manner, don't forget the goal is to take on the message. At least that's what I thought was going on out here?
 
I am very definitely NOT a fan of Jessee Benton, but I'm not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater, either.

Getting Rand elected as President is the best reasonable shot we have to make a significant intermediate-term advance for the cause of Liberty, period. I'm going to work hard and contribute if he chooses to run, period.

IMNSHO it would be a big mistake for Rand to employ Benton in a significant capacity, but I'm not going to make it a litmus test issue that gets in the way of achieving a larger goal.
