I don't see anything on their website about a straw poll. If that's the case then there is very little strategic reason to attend other than to participate in Ron speech.

Thoughts?

Don't they push for Johnson though? It sure seemed so around CPAC.
Sorry, my bad, I should've clarified.

This is the Republican Leadership Caucus. The Republican Liberty Caucus people are pushing Gary Johnson. The Republican Liberty Caucus is like the CFL except for the GOP (they can endorse / support candidates).

The Liberty Caucus has endorsed Johnson for president? What will happen when Ron decides to run? Wouldn't it be somewhat like him endorsing his opponent?

They haven't 'quite' endorsed him, but their efforts and events all seem structured to push him. They send his PAC's emails to their mailing list, etc. ask him to be keynote speaker at an event then have a straw poll, stuff like that.

I believe the Republican Liberty Caucus is just reporting on their events where Gary Johnson has attended, and promoting their events where he will attend. Paul won the straw poll at the California GOP Convention put on by the CA chapter of the RLC.

I was out of town when he came to an event near me, but I believe the Majority of RLCers will be working for Ron Paul's 2012 campaign.

I am heavily involved in the RLC. They HAVE NOT endorsed Johnson or Paul. There are some in leadership that are for Johnson, but it is very fair to say that membership is split on the issue. Most are very happy that both are running, and are looking forward to having two libertarian voices in the Republican debates.

Gary Johnson has made a considerable effort to court RLC however, speaking at many of their events, where as Paul has not.
