The pollsters over at Pivit are giving a 96% chance for Republicans to take the Senate.

Ok, sure. But what does this mean for liberty? How many new Liberty candidates are likely to win? As for the "non liberty" candidates, how many of them are paying lip service to our ideas? Overall do we have an advancing trend of libertarian ideas or a declining trend this election cycle?

Most of the quality candidates didn't even make it out of the primaries. So, the answer would be NO.

Slowly advancing, there will be some good new guys in the House. And State Legislatures, US Senate will be pathetic though, unless someone really surprises us.

We will gain ground overall, it remains to be seen exactly how much.

No problem, we'll get it next time.

I don't think you can simply say that. Doesn't this mean the electorate is rejecting our ideas?

If you think about politicians like animals in the wild, and the ideas of each politician as their "survival traits". All of the animals with our traits are dying, or being interbred with other animals that have more dominant traits. Overall, the "libertarian genome" is being killed off, dispersed, and watered down. It means that the animals in the next generation (the next election cycle) will be less likely to have our traits, and more likely to have other less desirable ones. Such as hawkishness, or a pro socialism stance.

Edit: The above is one scenario. Maybe it's going the other way

But we will win seats, like I said. The voters did not reject Amash, and Jones. Virtually every liberty incumbent won his primary.

Like others have said... Liberty was lost in the primaries... by the time you get to the general election, it's nothing but the oligarchy's partner-puppets.

Wait a second, your position is that Republicans = liberty? Explain.

The terms "liberty" and "election," used in the same sentence, constitute an oxymoron. The terms are mutually exclusive. Liberty can never arise from the electoral process. Only its diametric opposite.

It's pretty depressing to not see McDaniel on the verge of a Senate win. I hope lightning strikes that old bastard and all his corrupt backers.

Nope.. it means that they are either not hearing them,, or being convinced that they can not win (so are choosing the known evils).

Not to mention that only a % is making the choice at all.
