This is a Trump showcase. He makes little sense and no points, and hasn't strung a coherent sentence together yet. But Mortimer Snerd would look good next to Biden. They're pitching Trump slowballs to hit out of the park. A far cry from the Biden-friendly questions people predicted.

Yeah, Trump has always been puddle deep on the issues, and because of the format, he wasn't allowed to do his comedy act.
Hindsight is 20/20, and thinking on your feet under pressure is difficult for most people of any age, but Trump could have really disassembled Biden on many occasions, but his response was mediocre.
I could imagine how someone as sharp and knowledgeable as Vivek would have responded to Biden's lies and failures. (No matter how one feels about his sincerity).
Biden: "he's a liar, everything he just said was a lie".
Expecting to hear this throughout.
"There you go again with that projection, lyin' Joe.".

And the CNN/CIA team is piling on Biden.

I didn't watch the entire thing but as befuddled and bemuddled and lost as Biden was, I thought he actually held up better than I expected.
And that proves the set-up point. Biden has been stumbling like this for years. It's nothing new.

But why the formality of setting him up to do poorly in a debate?
Why not have the DNC hold a traditional primary? Or was that the point, to avoid one?
Of course the DNC doesn't need or adhere to voting by the peons and ignorant masses. They proved it in court during the Hillary primary.
This was a show for the people, on every network simultaneously. It is meant to build a consensus. They couldn't do a 180 on their past 4 years of lies about Biden being competent. They needed a catalyst. They needed a new Pearl Harbor, a new 9/11, a new Jan 6th. This was it.
After all the attempts to cover for Biden, I would imagine that it would take seeing it with their own eyes to turn enough Dems against him. I’m sure there are a few of them that actually believe all those gaffs are deepfakes and taken out of context.
The TV tells them what to think. The left is probably almost unanimous now that Biden is incompetent. The only ones who won't say it are the contenders for his spot. Kamala, Newsom, etc.
There is a somewhat anonymous machine behind the Biden Admin. They don't care about Biden's incompetence. They have power now, and would like to keep it just the way it is. But the consensus has been reached by the rest of the left that Biden threatens the election. They want the façade of fair elections, and they are afraid a Biden win is just too far fetched to be believed at this point.
