I suppose you are right. It does seem a bit self-centered. Leaving the wife at home after she just pushed a....well, you've all seen the miracle of life video, and going to an event you can probably see online.

i could of went, but I chose my first day of college instead . i dont want to start off at the wrong foot with my professors! its reverse sacrifice. im sacrificing an event for education, it's horrible I know.

Make sure you wake some people up on your first day. Compensation; instead of preaching to the choir

Why leave the wife and baby at home? Our latest arrival will be just over 4 weeks old when our family attends the rally. We have 8 children who are all very excited to attend this rally.

Yes, but if it is only the first or second baby, it can be disruptive. I am guessing once you're up to 8 or so, you hardly break stride.

I'm not really squeamish about germs and dirt. (We have 2 dogs - dirt lives here too.) But if I had a new baby, I'd be using those new Mom hormones to fret about exposing that new immune system to germs. With the number of anti-vaccine members of the movement, it might not be a bad idea to avoid exposing a newborn to an environment that could be ripe for a measles, mumps or rubella outbreak.

I understand the new-to-baby mindset. Life is quite a bit different with a larger family. We tend to bring baby right into the family fold and continue with life.
If she is breast-feeding then the baby is already well protected from disease. We don't vaccinate our children and they tend to be much healthier than the populous. Although we have a great relationship with our family doctor, we rarely go because we simply don't need a doctor that often.
I'm not trying to tell this guy what to do, just encouraging folks to think outside "the box". We must start training the younger generations to stand-up for liberty and freedom at a very early age if we want any hope of getting our country back.
IMHO The best way to do that is through the family.

I totally hear you! I am seriously considering homeschool, only because it is freaking me out to see my kids being forced to present their papers just to enter school. It doesn't matter that the records are being transferred from another school system - the State needs to review the originals.

We're a pretty healthy bunch too, with me being the exception. So far (knock on wood) the only reason my kids have been to the doctor is just so they'll have a doctor, and to get antibiotics once for a round of strep throat. Oh yeah, a physical for sports.

Home schooling is probably our last hope for a freethinking society. We have been home schooling for 8 years and intend to complete high school with each of our children. It has been a wonderful blessing to watch our children hold our values and use our thought processes. It will cost your time and money, but I can't think of a better investment for the future of your family and our country.

What kind of sacrifice is that? Getting away form a screaming baby for a few days would probably be his idea of heaven right now. It's no sacrifice at all, it sounds a bit self-centered to me.

I have a 3 month old (my first), and I am sad to be away for three days also. She tugs at my heart strings every day.

Becoming a father is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
