FWIW, Mother Jones attacked Ron Paul for his attack on the Lawrence v. Texas decision which struck down sodomy laws.

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz says he won’t ban the sale of sex toys if he’s president, BuzzFeed News reported Friday.
“What people do in their own private time with themselves is their own business and it’s none of the government’s business,” Cruz told WABC radio host Curtis Sliwa.
Sliwa asked Cruz if he would ban “the sale of sexual toys, dildos, or anything that sexually stimulates you,” after Mother Jones revealed that Cruz defended a ban on the sale of dildos as Texas’s solicitor general.
“Look, of course not, it’s a ridiculous question, and of course not,” Cruz added.
That would've been a dilbreaker for a lot of women.

If this is confirmed, maybe he saw it as a political crusade?

I can't decide which is worse. The law itself or the fact that it's constitutional. Statism is indeed a religion. These psychos want to control/deny your most basic needs.
Noone needs a dildo.
