1) RP got the most applause BY FAR

2) RP didn't get to answer much, but when he did he owned those seconds leaving viewers wanting to see more..........maybe on YOUTUBE!

3) He's talking about old fashioned republicanism, that speaks loads to Florida

Also, one thing to mention to non-RP voters

There was an article that bush lied 532 times regarding going into Iraq, i'm sure many of you read it on msnbc. So if all these guys still support the war in Iraq then aren't they supporting those 532 lies?
 
he might have "owned" it if they had given him, say three more questions. then he would have only had half as many as romney/mccain.

He did pretty good considering.
 
Honestly, I think Dr. Paul was pretty well aware that he'd get very little time to speak, so he made his answers count.

I thought the question to McCain was brilliant, as it exposed a "frontrunner" as being clueless. While some may be concerned that the question flew over the heads of viewers, I think many people would expect a presidential candidate to understand the complicated policies that the average citizen wouldn't know about - after all, that's why politicians get paid the big bucks, right?

My favorite part of the debate was watching the other four candidates do a little tap dance around the Iraq war issue after being told that most of the population didn't agree with it. I think that alone spoke volumes to the people.

While it wasn't a great debate, I will say that it was a fair one by way of questions for Dr. Paul.
 
Dr. Paul was being statesmanlike. He showed confidence and poise to wait his turn and then unload both barrels on them. I was awestruck.
 
This by far was THE question tonight and resonated I'm sure:


Was the fall of Saddam Hussein worth all our dead soldiers?

Ron Paul was the ONLY ONE to say NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for him. He's a good man. People will love him like we do for his honesty.
 
In the last debate they asked about the economy.

They all pretty much said the economy was doing ok.
Ron Paul said we were entering a recession.


This debate: all they talk about is how to fix a failing economy.

Do other people besides us get this stuff?

I disagree. Ron Paul ,quite frankly, sucked. He could have destroyed 9u11iani and that Mormon guy. And that POW dude, too. What did he do instead. He asked some witty question that made everyone go "what?". I cannot agree, he was not on a top of the game. He should have attacked and attacked. And, knowing that he'd be given only 1/10000th of a second to make his point, he should have packaged his answers just right. Yeah, that's right, I said it, he should have used soundbites. They work.

And Ron didn't. At least not tonight.
 
He needs to mention specifics that people can relate

to.
a.) he needs to offer more specifics about ending unaccountable spending ( as mccain stole that thunder by saying he would " be careful with tax dollars"

RP needs to say - specifically to romney ( who said healthcares 110 billion a year is wasteful) that bringing home troops would save 500 billion a year which is more than enough to fix the enormous healthcare problem, revealing that romney is out of touch.

b.) Begin the process of ending/phasing out the IRS

c.) end waist in healthcare by lowering costs such as admin which alone represents 20% waisted. Then ask should small businesses have the burden of paying 2-3 times more than the inflated individual premiums.
This problem prevents job creation in a substantial way.
 
i agree.....tho he wasnt given half as much time as romney he made his time count....people will want to hear more of his ideas.....lets be hopeful.......maybe him not getting much air time will prompt people who dont kno him to go out and research him! he answered so well....he nailed his points like no other on stage....maybe this will open peoples eyes???

Actually I think msnbc asked a lot of negative questions to other candidates, kind of making them all look bad, attacking them all, so in that sense it wasgood Ron Paul didn't get as much negative publicity. Though I thought they could be more fair with the time - they obviously didn't even come close to giving each candidate equal time and it was hardly a debate. My high school debates were a lot more of a debate format that this stupid setup.

plus for some reason all the other candidates have started dropping words like "constitution" "smaller government" "free market" at random places in their speeches. :D
 
Kee-riste, they NEVER give Ron Paul the time they give the others.... why do you all still whine about that? It's a given! BUT... what Ron Paul did with that time tonight was calmly destroy their matrix. He made some great moves and people saw it tonight. He was more poised than before, not rushed, he articulated very well, and he got the last word in for the night, a scathing rebuke of the party for departing from it's principles and excluding newcomers to the party who believe in what the Republicans USED to believe in.

He made a lot of rank and file Republicans sit up and take note, I'll guarantee that!
