Let me start off by saying I will write a long entry here and keep in editing it to add more information till i reach the max.

I am just starting it off now and will continue later.

To the people who say that they don't trust Americans to vote correctly, are you in line with the libertarian line of thought and the line of thought of Ron Paul, because both believe in that people are "able" to make their own decisions. Do you disagree?

So if 51% vote to take Jimmy's property and turn into a public vacation spot because it's beach front that is fine?

The majority of Americans are too stupid to be trusted with that type of power.

You have to believe in the ability of man in any country or in any situation.

If Direct Democracy were in our country, the people would be much more educated and would therefore be able to vote correctly.

Art. 19 Right to Primary Education
The right to sufficient and free primary education is guaranteed.

But that wouldn't always be the case. You need something to protect the minority.

I am certain that if this country was founded as a direct democracy we would have a completely socialist government by now. Without the checks and balances we have people would simply vote for there own self interest and the minority would get hosed. Because of the racial and cultural diversity of this country it would be especially bad.

Canada has far fewer checks and balances the we do and look how much further down the road to socialism they have gone in the same amount of time.

Give it up, Dude. This is like the tenth time you've tried your 'direct democracy' gambit.

Nobody is buying it.

Direct democracy sounds like a great idea- But democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on whats for dinner.

The fact of the matter is, we don't need a new government, or a new style. We need less government. Congress shouldn't be meeting on a daily basis. Let alone passing laws faster than it is humanly possible to read them all.

Direct democracy has worse downfalls than our current system. If you thought the MSM had a big effect on our government and politics in general, wait until every single person in America is a little clay congressman for them to mold.

We can expose congress, one congressman at a time. But we certainly can't expose the entire nation that way.
