Ron Paul can't wait until January or later to announce his presidency. The disgruntled masses are looking for their leader -now-. People are so hungry for a Republican leader to follow to the unseating of Obama that they're starting to latch on to any yahoo that makes the suggestion that they're the one to save them. They're starting to latch on to Sarah Palin as if she'll lead us to salvation, without really even knowing who she is, other than that she's the one that might save us from Obama. There's even been talk of Glenn Beck running in 2012 to beat Obama.
The Republicans hate Obama so much that they'll pretty much take anyone who steps into the position and they'll latch onto them like a life preserver with all they've got.
Look at George W. Bush. He was a nobody. Nobody knew who he was or what he stood for. But made his intentions known early, at least to some people, that he would be running. I remember after the 1998 mid-term elections the news agencies were doing exit polling on whether voters would vote for Bush Sr's son George if he was on the ballot in 2000. And a lot of them were all for it, mainly because they knew the name Bush and hated Clinton. Nothing else. I also remember during the Reagan administration the media talking up George HW Bush about how well he has done as a VP.
They WILL have exit polling in November and they WILL be playing king maker.
Republicans like to follow leaders. They like to follow the guy that's out front. Ron Paul needs to be the first one out the gates and be that leader.
