Seems like the most appropriate date to protest the clowns in DC.
Why not have the march on April 15th?

Many, Many, Many people could not go in April. People have school, finals, and things during that month.
I cannot go until I get my Tax return, so likely no time before June. That may be the case with others as well.
April only gives a bit over a month to organize, plan, and get everything done. It just is not enough time to make something really great.

College students have finals. A couple people have been saying that "they could take the week off from school", but it's not that simple, guys. These are FINALS. These students work for the whole year to make sure they pass this thing. They cannot simply take the week off. It would probably be a real hassle to setup an alternative finals date and they might get docked a grade.
A lot of workers won't be able to get the time to take work off. People on the west coast, if we go by bus, would have to take 9 or 10 days off work. That is not merely saying they're sick. That's probably half the frickin' rent! That's insane!
Like Utah pointed out, some people are waiting to use their rebate check to go. Rebate checks aren't going to arrive by April 15th. So there's a bunch of people out.
It's real short notice. How the Granny Warriors are going to get the permit and secure a location by the 15th, I don't know. They'd have to apply for the permit right now. In a topic it was said they have the permit in hand. But I don't believe it until I see it.
"As an event planner, you are required to meet with the Special Events Task Group at least 60 days prior to your proposed event. Due to the large number of events held in Washington, DC, and the District's extensive regulations that govern event planning, you should contact the Task Force at least 120 days in advance of an event." -- Straight from the DC site.

It's a fine suggestion -- not a very good practical one -- but as a suggestion, good enough.
What's worse is the whole "I'm marching on this date with Ron Paul or not" mentality. Give me a break.

Don't feel bullied by the summer vacation crowd. Your idea was a good one and has been proposed by others here met with alot of agression by these folks. To me it would be a great day.

On a Saturday it would be fantastic.
Unfortunately, the reality is that if you want to maximize the turnout, you have to think of the majority of his base -- people who work during the week and people who are in school (and even have exams) during the week.

this date really is too soon. I know some people like it but we have to remember that a large base of Ron Paul supports are college students and I think it's wrong to not think of them when planning this march, your telling me all those young people that busted their ass in the snow and cold weather to canvas for ron paul in Iowa and New Hampshire don't get a say? shame on the Ganny wariors, who died and left them in charge? everyone must remember that the Ron Paul and the campaign came up with this Idea NOT THE GRANNY WARRIORS! so it's crazy to not include the people who came up with the idea in the fist place. they can go right on a head and march by themselves because I wont be there.

And I am another person who cant make it on the 15th. One because it is too soon with my job and one because I really am not all wound up about making it a tax protest.
My biggest issues are:
Stop all wars and bring troops home.
Sound economic decisions.
Keep USA and all countries sovereign.
So stopping taxes does not get into the top 3, although it could help with them. Ummm the more I think about it maybe no income taxes is important but it just is a hard fringe sale to make.
