Why men earn more

because the Clinton Administration had the Supreme Court Decision in West Coast Hotels vs Parrish (1933) reversed. This reversal also made the bailouts possible

Most of the celebrity chefs in the San Francisco bay area are women: Alice Waters (Chez Panisse), Judy Rodgers (Zuni Cafe), Traci Des Jardins (Jardiniere), Nancy Oakes (Boulevard).

Another reason not to visit Frisko....:D

LOL I'm just kidding with you;)

I'm sure they are wonderful chefs. I'm just saying that in general men are the top chefs. Frisco is obviously a nice exception.

I will say this much about this topic. If I made more money than my wife does, life and bills would be far more enjoyable. She passed me 4 years ago and hasn't looked back.

My mother makes more than my father. In two years or so, I will probably make more than my father too.

Theocrat, I agree with you. Letting the state raise your children is retarded. Why is it better for the wife to stay at home though? Any sound arguments? My mother is making more than my father and is a lot better as a professional than my father. And I'm against the feminist brainwashing that all women should work and shit. But I'm also against the theory that women should be housewives, it's all up to each person to make their decisions and the soon the society will realize this, the better it would be. And I agree with you, getting married and not having children is a retarded concept, if you look at marriage from it's historical purpose. This is why I believe using the term marriage for homosexual is idiotic, especially considering marriage shouldn't even be regulated by the government.

I agree.

You should not be forced into marriage. You should only get married if you want to. But marriage and monogamy should be praised and pushed instead of career hunting and promiscutity of today. Do you agree with that?

Your boss never should have groped you. But you telling him that his agression was unwanted should have stopped him, and apparently it did...problem solved. No need for lawsuits or other bullshit. Now if he kept it up thats a different story.

He never should have fired you if you were sick. I would have probably at least asked for some legal advice in that situation. That sounds like unlawfull termination to me and quite immoral.
This is the frigging problem today. Stuff is pushed onto people. That's like saying that affirmative action doesn't biases decisions.

My boss was an idiot. And I could have sued him because he violated my rights. The same situation as in when he fired me out of spite. And I could have sued the casino for that too. I didn't even tell my grandfather who's a lawyer or he woulda made me sue them. lol.

Well I will tell you why. Because men are built for WORK both physically and mentally. Thats what men do. Thats why lazy men are absolutely useless and why when you think of masculinity you think of Clint Eastwood or Bruce Willis. Men that just get shit done and don't apologize for it.

Children (especially when very young) need a loving mother. Women are both physically and mentally built to nurture children...women have breasts that are full of milk which babies need and I personally think that very young children simply need to be held, spoken to, and fed by their mothers.

And on the other side I believe that children need their fathers from a young age as well but more importantly having a father is an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY when the child is a bit older. Having a strong father to guide a child statisticly has proven to keep young men out of jail and young women to hold their values.

Of course there are exceptions such as having a deadbeat mother or deadbeat father...or deaths in the family....but that has absolutely NO bias upon the rule IMHO.

To me thats just NATURE....and fighting nature alwasy seems to have negative effects on yourself and everyone around you.

Sandman, do you have a degree in psychology/psychiatry? If you don't, stop talking about things you don't know. BOTH parents are as important to a child. I can look into my personality and traits and see that around half come from stuff related to my father. You might say that this is the case with me, but look at the statistics of single parent children crime rates. Pretty amusing that they're around the same value both for single mothers and single fathers percentage wise. How's that nurturing and shit doing for you? You are basing your reasoning on something flawed.

All this caring gender stuff is bullshit, by the way. I'm a woman so I can tell you how the average stuff is.

Wait...I was saying that BOTH parents are absolutely essential. I just feel that infants benefit more from their mothers and that older children benefit more from a strong father.

But that BOTH parents are necessary and vital. I was not picking one parent over another in my previous statement.

So the mother should quit working in the beginning and then get a job as the father quits working? Look, both parents are vital in no matter what part of their life the kid is in. My father was more important to me when I was young than he was when I was a teenager. My mother is more important to me now because she has interests and experience that is relevant. You are just guessing and making things up. I can ask my psych to give me some studies that prove this if you really want.

You are getting upset with me for telling you the truth.

The father should absolutely NOT quit working. Thats preposterous. He's got a family to support.

Im AGREEING WITH YOU that both parents are absolutely necessary.

Save your psych studies, really. That shit fucks up peoples heads worse than scientology.

Sandman33 I think I might love you. It's so sad I'm taken. And that you're blue. Hey, the only other blue person I've ever seen is the guy from Watchmen... and he had a huge... personality.

*ponders*

Oh, right, why men earn more. Well, men have been working at it longer, no? That, and all the other stuff people already said. I really just wanted to hit on Sandman33.

I haven't stabbed anyone yet...think you can drive me to it?:D

And yeah...I just figured that since my manly prowess was so blue and perfect...that pants just got in the way...I'm like a walking/hanging piece of art:D

I have had this happen to me before at one of my jobs. Same job title, and I actually had twice as much education and had been working there a full year and a half longer. Guy comes along with no experience and is offered the job making a couple dollars more than me an hour. I also had more than twice as many responsibilities. Pretty messed up. How do I know this? Because I became really good friends w/ the guy and he told me his hourly pay when we were hanging out after work. I was pretty pissed off.

Tell your employer that you want a raise but dont' tell him why. And make it a dollar an hour MORE than what you know the other guy is making.

If he refuses take your services elsewhere and teach them a lesson for letting such a good productive employee go.

It's also possible that the man NEGOTIATED a higher pay rate and was not simply offered it right away. That would actually make more sense.

I work in a field where women make more.

Plenty of people work in a field where women make more. They don't count. The only people that count are those that add to the myth that men make more money than women.
