Why men earn more

Earnings is Just the Tip of the Iceberg

Men and women are different, and therefore, they are not fit to do the same jobs. I agree with Thomas DiLorenzo's article and his reasoning for why men earn more. God created men to provide for and protect their households. Women were created to nurture and provide support in their households. This "equality in the workplace" dogma (initiated by 20th century feminists and others) needs to stop. It is breaking up the structure of the family. Men and women were made to complement one another, and that's how we're made useful in society. That means we can't all do the same types of jobs. Besides, why isn't there a female version of the NFL?

This is a good question! Perhaps is every games was played in the rain (so as to have the aesthetic qualities of mud wrestling) an "FNFL" could become popular. ;):D lolz Someone should popularize rugby! Women can play that one too, as far as I know. :)

The push to put women in the workforce was/is heavily influenced by government propaganda.

It served(s) three purposes:

1 - Deflate earning potential by increasing the labor pool, putting downward pressure on middle class earnings.

2- Get women out of the home leaving more of the "traditional" roles of child rearing in the hands of government.

3- Increase tax revenues.

40 odd years later and the results are clear: broken, dysfunctional families and two income earner households that can barely keep their heads above water.

The welfare state and no-fault divorce did more harm to the family unit than putting women into the workforce.

Getting women into the work force also allowed women freedom and independence, not to mention money.

Screw any of that "greater good of society" crap.

Replace the word 'women" with "blacks" in this sentence. How fast would you get banned?

Women aren't second class citizens, nor are they a detriment to your great society ideal when they wander off your plantations.

You don't get to decide where we're supposed to be happy.

Screw all of you.

Figured I would throw this in, since I usually do with this nonsense...

cut&paste from wiki

Some studies, such as those done by the Independent Women's Forum, conclude that when taking into account variables when comparing male and female employment within the United States - type of job, hours worked in a week, tenure, benefits (for example maternity leave) - women make 98% of men's income.

To all the ladies in the house (Kludge included):

Just because some of those claims do not describe you personally, does not mean they are not true. Do you notice they all say "more likely", meaning that it does not apply to ALL men or women? You may be insulted by the claims if you have personal beliefs and resentment towards topics like this, but if one looks at the claims objectively and not with emotion, it would be difficult to refute these claims.

With that being said, I, along with most members of this forum, believe looking at people as individuals. I am sure DiLorenzo believes the same. Put your emotions aside and realize the man was simply trying to explain some of the reasons why, on average, men still make more money than women.

+1 for perspective.

No Sexism (Nor Racism) Intended

I know this is a touchy subject to some women, but I ask you to show where I ever stated that women are second-class citizens and are a detriment to society. You have asserted that from my words, which I never implied.

I do agree with you that it is not in my power to decide where women are supposed to be happy. I do believe God has given us direction for the proper roles of men and women in the family, and therefore, in society as a whole. God has made it clear that happiness and blessing come from having a family with children (Psalm 127:4, 5). That is one perspective I was coming from in my post you responded to. I meant no offense.

so you dont see any truth in those points

ime they are very accurate

if someone asked me why yesterday i wouldnt have had an answer but after seeing it layed out it is pretty obvious

All of that is the absolute TRUTH. Women hate hearing the truth but it is what it is.

Wrong....how many single mothers do you think cling to the welfare state that you so condemn? A RIPPING SHITLOAD THATS HOW MANY.

Women that convinced good wives and mothers that they were opressed when they WERENT have polluted society and destroyed this country because they successfully killed what the real backbone of this country was....THE FAMILY.

Now the majority of families arent even families...they are completely busted and the children learn from the socialist state school system instead of from decent parents.

Henceforth 70% of todays prison inmates were raised by single mothers and the U.S. has the highest rate of incarceration in the entire WORLD....and it's not because the law is the problem...it's because without a decent family to support a child and guide it the right way men more often than not find crime and women more often than not become absolute whores. Marriage and prison stats will prove it.

Having both parents working all day, arriving home stressed, microwaving dinner (if you even HAVE family dinner) and leaving TELEVISION and the SCHOOL to raise the future of our Nation is absolute CANCER.

THATS THE TRUTH.

Men earn more because they're more productive. Period. If women would do the same thing for less pay, who the fuck would hire men? A company who'd hire only women would have the same goods at a smaller price or better goods at the same price. lol

And telling women they should work, it's the same philosophy as telling them they should be mothers and stay at home. The problem though is welfare, female scholarships, ripping men in courts out of their assets because these lead to skewed decisions.

I agree with you 100%.

Between "womens menstrual sick days" materity leave, the threat of crippling sexaul harrassment suits, showing up late, leaving early, taking johnny to soccer, and refusing to put in the same effort that men do....hiring women is a liability to an employer that simply wants productivity out of his business.

And yes all those state and govt crutches that women get that you mentioned aren't helping "equality" either. Nor are they helping society at all. In fact it's more of the bullshit that I believe Ron Paul would cut.

I want to work as a stripper, but I can only make 10% of what a woman would make in that position. That's a travesty. I DEMAND ACTION! THIS IS SEXIST!

ROFL!:D As a male porn star I demand to be paid equally!!! The fact that the women get to lie there while I do most of the actual LABOR is completely sexist!

Here's the thing, Sandman. You are wholesale painting all women with the same brush. People are individuals and they should be treated as such.

Oh, and the crap about "refusing to put in the same effort that men do" has a simple solution. Fire those who do that. Just like you as an employer might want to fire men who do not put in an acceptable level of effort. Oh, and last time I checked, it was not the "level of effort" one put into a job that was the bottom line; it was the results being generated by said effort. ;)

The laws are the problem. Get rid of the labor laws and treat people as individuals. Those who do the job well, regardless of sex, should get the rewards.

Oh, and Sandman, I believe it was in the other thread that you accused women who worked of being "angry", but in reality, it seems to be you who is angry. You seem to have a lot of pent up anger against women who work. I don't know if it's because you have had some bad experiences, or what the deal is.

What you have described may be true in manual labor; I'll give you that. But, in careers that require intelligence, you are smoking crack.

And telling women they should work, it's the same philosophy as telling them they should be mothers and stay at home. The problem though is welfare, female scholarships, ripping men in courts out of their assets because these lead to skewed decisions.

Of course, we could agree to get rid of the labor laws and let employers decide who they want to hire. That might be a plan. :)

EDIT: Next time some of you guys wonder why there aren't more women in this movement, remember the 2 threads that are going on right now. Because your sexist views would drive away most anyone who didn't realize you were full of shit with regard to the non-application of liberty in this regard and that Ron Paul would strongly disagree with your views. :)

I agree.

But you can't FIRE women unless you want a lawsuit for "discrimination" against a minority that happens to make up 52% of the population.

And just because I speak the truth doesnt mean I hate women. It's thinking like that constantly makes you think you're the victim and that men are oppressive.

Men aren't opressive...WOMEN ARE. Just visit any family court for a day, you'll see.

And I'm not angry at women that work...women working is FINE. I'm angry at colleges telling women that they are opressed and beating the career farce into womens heads...as if being a wife and mother is just being a man's slave....Thats horseshit.

The truth is that women enter the workforce and quickly realize that being a slave to the grind SUCKS....and that they have sacrificed their biological gift of childbirth to simply be a slave to the state.....and reality comes crashing down REAL fast around 28-30 years old.

Only now at that age and after living the free sex single life for that long men don't want to marry them....and of course just like their college told them...its ALL mens fault....men are the assholes that supposedly opressed them in the first place...and men are the assholes now that won't marry them.

I'm sick and tired of it all.

I agree.

The laws you have in your state are the problem. Get involved and get them changed. I live in Texas; it is a right to work state. You can fire anyone any damn time you want and for any reason, or no reason at all.

And just because I speak the truth doesnt mean I hate women. It's thinking like that constantly makes you think you're the victim and that men are oppressive.
You aren't speaking the truth. You come across as angry at women who want a career. You appear to be letting your personal experiences cloud your judgment.

Men aren't opressive...WOMEN ARE. Just visit any family court for a day, you'll see.
So, you've been burned and you're angry, right?

And I'm not angry at women that work...women working is FINE. I'm angry at colleges telling women that they are opressed and beating the career farce into womens heads...as if being a wife and mother is just being a man's slave....Thats horseshit.

Some women do and some women, do NOT. Women are individuals. Treat them as such.

Stereotyping just a bit, or what?

Try respecting women and you may find that some respect you right back.

I'm sick and tired of it all.
Yeah, me too. I'm sick of both sides of this deal, because both so-called sides are crap. If you stick with treating people as individuals and respect them as such, things will work out much better.
