The subject comes up when Stewart is describing how much fun it is to pore through old tape looking for instances in which politicians have contradicted themselves. Airing that kind of thing is a “Daily Show” staple.

“You know a guy you’d have a hard time doing that do? Ron Paul, because he’s been consistent over the years,” says Stewart. “You may disagree with him, but at least you can respect that the guy has a belief system he’s engaged in and will defend.”

One week to go until Ron Paul shows up on Jon Stewart Daily Show!

CEO of Showbiz trying to cause division.

President Leibowitz knows how to play the game, or else he would have never reach the position of President. Same for vice-president Colbert.

He could say the same about Palin...but that is the main target, the Third Wave Christian.

How has Palin been consistent? She's so anti-establishment she accepted John McCain's VP offer? Not buying it.

Good for Jon Stewart. It's a comedy show; anyone who takes it as gospel, or even takes it seriously, is probably not an intelligent person. I think the show is good for casually bringing up Paul's name or indeed pointing out media bias - but it leaves it up to the viewer to draw his or her own conclusions about the topic being discussed. It's not "serious political commentary" like the other talking heads on television.

Jon WANTS and IS a serious political figure, he just uses the "clown nose on/clown nose off" technique according to what suits him.

And no it's not "just a comedy show"...it is much more than that...but that is another story eheheheh.

Division among whom? Ron Paul supporters?

Evrytime Ron Paul is mentioned as a viable candidate without the word kook attached helps his campaign because some new person will be induced to take a look and end up saying "OMG! This guy is so RIGHT!" Perhaps the most important way in which the Good Doctor differs from his rivals is that the closer you look at Ron Paul the better he looks.

No sorry. She is just being the "vice presidential candidate", she is not saying "hurray for bailouts" she in fact guides the conversation towards smaller government. She couldnt say "I HATE THIS BAILOUTS" and you know it.

Not even Jon Stewart would use that as an example of contradictions and double talk.

Find something else...

Jon Stewart: 'Bruce Springsteen is my hero'

Jon Stewart has praised Bruce Springsteen as one of his personal heroes.

The Daily Show host explained that Springsteen's music helped him to understand that he isn't alone in the world.

"When I listened to his music I didn't feel like a loser. I felt like a character in an epic poem about losers," Stewart quipped to Rolling Stone.

Stewart went on to joke that Springsteen's legendarily long concerts are often more draining for the audience than for the E Street Band.

So she's too spineless to stick to her alleged principles and speak openly about them is what you're implying?

Actually I do think Jon Stewart would use that. And had Ron Paul been offered the veep slot at the time, he would have flatly refused to condone bailouts to any degree, and wouldn't have wound up on the ticket. So, we don't need something else. We have found our substantive difference.

Stewart has not said the same thing about Palin, and this is reason enough why he won't.

hah, welcome back Pete! One of the more entertaining posters. Missed your input on the warmongers in DC the last few months.

Division between Libertarians and Conservatives. The "right wing" vote.

If Paul is elected President, a goldmine of comedic material will be presented to Jon Stewart. Not from the Paul administration, but from attacks coming from his opponents representing both parties: the stupidest, most hypocritical goddamn things you have ever heard will become the norm. Both liberals and conservatives will be exposed as the phonies that they are

I'm implying that she couldn't say "I'm against the bailouts" and you know it, you just want to pick on her so, like anyone else to wants to pick on someone else, you use anything you can find to pick on her.

Actually, if Ron Paul was president and if he would make his policy to put in prison every soldier of the "Brave New World"...Jon Stewart would be one of the first to go and 99% of the "entertainment class" would follow him...including many of your "heroes" of comedy, music, tv, movies, etc.

Neither could possibly be against Dr. Paul's consistency, so are you saying that just the mere fact that Jon Stewart would say something nice about Dr. Paul will drive a wedge between libertarians and conservatives? Could you outline the basis of this hypothetical rift?
