Why Jon Stewart can't stop talking about Ron Paul

The subject comes up when Stewart is describing how much fun it is to pore through old tape looking for instances in which politicians have contradicted themselves. Airing that kind of thing is a “Daily Show” staple.

“You know a guy you’d have a hard time doing that do? Ron Paul, because he’s been consistent over the years,” says Stewart. “You may disagree with him, but at least you can respect that the guy has a belief system he’s engaged in and will defend.”

How has Palin been consistent? She's so anti-establishment she accepted John McCain's VP offer? Not buying it.

Good for Jon Stewart. It's a comedy show; anyone who takes it as gospel, or even takes it seriously, is probably not an intelligent person. I think the show is good for casually bringing up Paul's name or indeed pointing out media bias - but it leaves it up to the viewer to draw his or her own conclusions about the topic being discussed. It's not "serious political commentary" like the other talking heads on television.

Evrytime Ron Paul is mentioned as a viable candidate without the word kook attached helps his campaign because some new person will be induced to take a look and end up saying "OMG! This guy is so RIGHT!" Perhaps the most important way in which the Good Doctor differs from his rivals is that the closer you look at Ron Paul the better he looks.

Jon Stewart has praised Bruce Springsteen as one of his personal heroes.

The Daily Show host explained that Springsteen's music helped him to understand that he isn't alone in the world.

"When I listened to his music I didn't feel like a loser. I felt like a character in an epic poem about losers," Stewart quipped to Rolling Stone.

Stewart went on to joke that Springsteen's legendarily long concerts are often more draining for the audience than for the E Street Band.

Actually I do think Jon Stewart would use that. And had Ron Paul been offered the veep slot at the time, he would have flatly refused to condone bailouts to any degree, and wouldn't have wound up on the ticket. So, we don't need something else. We have found our substantive difference.

Stewart has not said the same thing about Palin, and this is reason enough why he won't.

Actually, if Ron Paul was president and if he would make his policy to put in prison every soldier of the "Brave New World"...Jon Stewart would be one of the first to go and 99% of the "entertainment class" would follow him...including many of your "heroes" of comedy, music, tv, movies, etc.
