Why I'm Voting for Romney in the General Election and Not Gary Johnson

You expect me to believe Romney will nominate judges like Scalia and Thomas? Sorry Lucy, Charlie Brown isn't going to try and kick this football.

Forget 15 to 20 years - in 12 years, 100% of the federal budget will be consumed by interest on the national debt and entitlements. And that's a conservative estimate that assumes interest rates won't rise. Bob Wenzell figures interest rates will be forced to rise in 2018. People who have high hopes for Rand Paul 2016 should think about that little forecast

If you don't live in a swing state you have no reason not to vote third party.

Pretty much.

If I had to choose between Romney and Obama I'd have a pretty hard choice.

Romney

Pros:
-probably hold line on taxes
-better federal judges

Cons:
-Will have to wait 8 years to get someone better instead of 4
-When things keep getting worse people will blame "free markets" or "austerity" under Romney

I live in Mass so I'll either vote for Gary or just write in Ron Paul.

This and also who honestly thinks Romney gives a damn if they're liberal or conservative when he switched from one side to other multiple times himself? He'd probably appoint a flip flopping judge like Bush Senior did.

A protest vote for Gary Johnson is a protest vote for abortion and forcing gay marriage on all fifty states.

a vote for romney is a vote for endless war, fiat money, and a police state. honestly anyone who votes for romney because he's "better" than obama absolutely clueless.

Name of thread should be, "Why I Have Lost All Hope for America." Oh, and btw, FUCK OBAMNEY.

Actually, that is easily the best reason to vote for Romney. I am not, but I won't bash others for doing it because I understand how important the SC is.

And yeah...none of the Justices are great, but there is a stark difference in interpretation of the Constitution between the two sides.

How so? The latest travesty, the gutting of habeas corpus, wasn't even heard by the court. Since it would only have required 4 justices to put it on the docket, it's pretty clear that they're not really interested in civil rights either.

Kelo wasn't split on party lines, either.

And in Citizen's United, all 9 justices declared that corporate speech was protected by the constitution. But the liberals on the court voted that the government should have the power to restrict it anyway.

If we stop electing legislators who pass horrible laws, SCOTUS is irrelevant. Until then, it's just another branch of government that doesn't really like people all that much.

ALL of them are inconsistent on civil liberties, but we are much better off if Obama stops picking fools.

Be honest, would you rather take Clarence Thomas or Elena Kagan?

However, I am not sure Romney would pick anyone more conservative than an Anthony Kennedy, based on his past appointments.

cool, so you'll vote for Rmoney over Obama because Rmoney has pledged to appoint conservative judges? is that kind of like how he's pledged to protect the second amendment even though he's backed legislation that attacks it, or kind of like how he's against taxes except when he raises them, or kind of like how he's against abortion except when he's for it?

Romney is pure, concentrated political demagoguery and false promises. he's made his entire career based off of it. going by his prior record, he honestly shouldn't even be running on a republican ticket. any excuse you use to try to rationalize voting for the bozo is just you kidding yourself.

PS. see my sig.
