Why does RP Forums show up 78th in search for Ron Paul?

I googled Ron Paul and didn't find RP forums until I got the the 8th page of results.

This needs to be addressed. This forum needs to be optimized for that search term. It needs to get to page one.

I did a "view source" on the home page and it is out of whack. All the stuff at the top of the page is outside of the < body > and before the < head >.

That should be fixed.

That first line at the top of the page should always have Ron Paul as the first two words, regardless of what else it says, and that headline should be contained within < h1 > tags.

Those changes alone should do the trick. There are enough links pointing back here to get us on the first page, or at worst, the top of 2nd page.

The easiest way to SEO a vBulletin forum, is to use vBSEO. If the admins want background info on it, PM me. I've got extensive experience.

But more importantly:
- There are a lot of people in this forum, and a shitload of topics and posts.

If anything this forum will show the newcomer that there is indeed significant support for Ron Paul, it'll show people that the grassroots are alive and kicking.

It'll turn people on rather than off, this forum should be within the first ten hits when you google Ron Paul.

I'll add to that that it is also total BS that there are two major ron paul forums on the internet that do exactly the same thing.

www.ronpaulforums.com is about twice as big as www.ronpaulforum.com and it'd be very advisable to merge the two (read: terminate ronpaulforum.com and shift it's users to ronpaulforums.com) and combine our strength. I guess that there are a few egos in the way of doing so though.

In any case the existence of two major fora with exactly the same setup and aims is retarded and only divides the grassroots.

Sometimes I wonder what you guys EXPECT this forum to be like with bunch of individualistic people choosing to back a presidential candidate for different reasons. There's no good reason this site shouldn't be one of the top ones on google. The more that get involved, the better. This site has grown along with the campaign's war chest and poll numbers and number of volunteers DESPITE the eye-gougingly-frustrating things that occur here regularly. It goes to show that involvement here is a good thing, even if (insert pet peeves) piss you off.
