Why Does RP do good in the States Mitt does?

The two states so far Romney has won (MI and NV), Dr. Paul did better than usually. In MI he took 4th, finally being bumped out of the 5th place rut. In NV he took second. From the looks of it Romney may win ME, and Dr. Paul is doing better in ME than any other state.

Is their a correlation of is it just me?

It's because the idiots think that Romney is closer to being conservative, and they don't want to waste their vote on Ron Paul and have McCain win. Its that simple. If Ron got a fair shake, he would be doing much much better.

Because caucuses require lots of organization unlike a normal primary. And with the money he is able to throw around he probably has a good ground organization in every state.

I think there's also a correlation between who is viewed as the Fiscal Conservative.

If and when Mitt drops out, we will get alot of those votes or delegates.

What we really need to do is offer Mitt a Cabinet position if he drops out and endorses Paul.

I seem to recall that in a couple of states, RP was about the only one who actually campaigned in a state. Then, Romney buys some adds in the days before the election and suddenly he is reported as the only candidate who campaigned in that state, making it look like he is the only one who cared about those votes. So, I don't know if it is necessarily ground organization as much as it is having money and MSM coverage in a state.

Fiscal conservatives abhor McCain and Huckabee. So, if the state is predominantly made up of fiscal conservatives, RP does better....unfortunately Romney does too.

A couple months ago somebody in the Advertising business told me that the Romney campaign was actively seeking WHERE the Ron Paul campain was advertising so they could advertise in the same area. (public information in the industry)

The economy in Maine is absolutely horrid.

It is expected that the perceived "businessman Republican" and the real fiscal conservative libertarian-leaning Republican will do well among people that are savaged in a sluggish job market like Maine.

It is true, but it is public information. Any candidate can find out where another candidate is advertising. Which regions, which stations, what time. It is all public information in the ad industry. No way to hide it.

What i was told is that that Romney campaign was VERY interested in finding out where Ron Paul was advertising. This was at the beginning of December.

I don't thik there's any particular relation. Romney was always expected to do well in the Northeast and in states with big Mormon populations, like Nevada. Meanwhile, Paul was always expected to do well in more libertarianish regions, like Maine and Nevada.

yes - just as in Michigan, where the economy is all the talk.
if i had not been aware of Ron Paul, my choice would have been Romney - that "business man" sell works well on me. :o
thank goodness i heard about the Revolution!
the amusing thing is that report from the National Taxpayers Union, showing that Mccain has the lowest projected spending increases based on campaign policy - which obviously could change come general election time when he has to make new promises.
but you just can't beat Paul's projected decrease in spending!

also, Romney - some fiscal conservative he is, promising the MI auto industry 20 million. that's buying the vote from my pocket, if you ask me.
