Why does Ron Paul say we dont need the IRS + why we need less education for our kids?

OP I think you are paranoid and afraid. Just like the government wants you. I understand what you are saying but I cant imagine state that as a whole could not do this better themselves.

Detroit and the manufacturing town of Michigan have been totalled but the rest of Michigan is quite strong. They could import moneys, teachers, principals whatever they need. If they need more they vote for it.

East Los Angeles has bad neighborhoods and schools. But other parts of Orange county have tons of money. They would help them and have a neighborly and civic duty to do that.

Do you really think the 4000 employees of DOE give a rats ass about Detroit or Compton and what happens there? That is not even in their minds I bet.

i am afraid cuz i just think like ron paul wants to go back in time to like 1800 when the constitution was written an he doesnt care about lookin at what history an the world has gone through changes do u think back when thomas jefferson wrote the constitution HE WAS THINKIn about al quadia cvrashin airplanes into the USA? of course not we need to look at the constitution as a guideline not a forever never changing gospel that will always work no matter what...

we need to realize the world changes, societ changes, new things r put into help things at certain times in our country

an ron PAUL wants to erease everythin that haws happened an i just dont think that can or should be done it would be like we were livin with a 1800 government when were right now in the year 2007 an its just too drastic a change imo of course it worries me if this guy won an stuff i would be mega worried about my countries future cuz i am not sure how the country would do if all the stuff he says is implemented how do we know it wont be worse what if bad stuff happenS? i just dont see him as a safe bet for president is my concern its too radical for me

I personally don't see a Ron Paul presidency as turning into an 1800's type of country. I see this as America becoming a citizen of the world and governing our country in a responsible manner like most other countries on this planet.

Sure we will not be the economic and military overlord. But what has this got us? Nothing.

What would we think of another country that has had federal and export deficits for decades, bases all over the world, and yet large amounts of poverty, under treated medical ailments, and lowering education standards? It seems insane and it is.

WEALTHY STATE school tax per person = 1000$ per student


POOR LOCAL city tax pay for school = 100$ per student

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION averages the tax money instead of doing biased state or city taxes and means EVERYONE atleast gets = 500$ per student

IRS chases money overseas (i.e., off-shore). If there was no IRS, that money would stay here and be invested in domestic and not foreign businesses. Besides, the collected tax is used in it's entirety to pay down the interest on the government debt. You don't get any kind of service from it. A better question to ask is "who is getting those interest payments, and who did our government represent when they amounted that debt?"

There are many other taxes that are collected (road/bridge tolls, gasoline taxes, sales taxes, use tire disposal tax, driver license tax, vehicle registration tax, tobacco taxes, alcohol taxes, and so on and so on). These taxes may pay for some items that you care about, but most of them go to subsidize something wasteful.

Department of Education is just a costly layer of bureaucracy. It is not necessary. If anything it "structures" education in such a way that creativity and innovation is stifled. Currently it is all about test taking, and not about critical thinking. By the way, the schools are paid from your local/real-estate taxes.

The Department of Education didn't even EXIST before 1980. This means that most of our fearless leaders on Capitol Hill grew up in a system without it. If it was good enough for them, why isn't it good enough for my future children?

Furthermore, if people would use a little common sense, we have the capability to provide virtually FREE education to everyone on the planet thanks to this marvelous invention called the INTERNET. But no, instead Congress comes up with asinine laws like the No Child Left Behind Act which literally leaves no child behind because it encourages teachers to teach students at the pace of the slowest students.

I had a conversation with a good buddy tonight over a couple beers. He told me that one of the ladies that lives in his apartment complex is a teacher at one of the local high schools. He had a conversation with her about the education system. According to her, schools are starting to do away with TP (tech prep) and CP (college prep) courses and just have all the students in the same curriculum regardless of aptitude (not sure if they're also doing away with AP - advanced placement).

He went on to tell me about some of the new protocols that have been implemented for No Child Left Behind. Apparently, if students fail a test, they are given an opportunity to retake the EXACT SAME test. No student is allowed to score below a 60 from what he was telling me.

Guys, this is scary stuff. Our MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR education system is WORTHLESS. Just imagine having one of these skulls full of mush grow up to be one of the city's finest - a police officer...VERY SCARY! Do you think they're going to know ANYTHING about the Constitution? Nope.

What does the income tax pay for then? Without income tax how would our debt be about how much bigger? How low would our dollar be when our national debt becomes even bigger and unpayable to foreign countries who we owe the money too?

How are poor inner city local schools and states going to afford the same luxuries as rich wealthy suburban schools without a strong Dept. Of education that funds more into poorer areas and balance things more equally across the country?

I teach in a poor inner city school. We get our money from property taxes in the county, not from the Dept. of Education. The Department of Education does NOTHING to create any sort of equity in schools. It is local choice, and my district does a damn good job of making the facilities equitable.
