Why did Newt agree with Ron Paul no less than four times in the last debate?

Taking his positions gets a lot of votes on those who may have sympathized but were uncertain. He is playing politics. There are no guarantees whatsoever that his new found agreement with Paul will last. There are absolute certainties that without Paul's presence Gingrich would not have adopted any of those policies, or called for an audit of the federal reserve.

Not one hundred percent. Santorum may have been awfully crooked during his time in the Senate, but Newt reeks of corruption and a whole lot of people in this nation actually can smell.
