Why all the negativity on the SC debate?

I read some of the threads on the debate, and a bunch of people are sounding like it was the worst performance ever. I only saw a couple of snippets, and it looked like typical Ron Paul answers.

Was the rest really that bad, or are there just trolls on tonight?

Lots of people overreacting tonight. Ron Paul was Ron Paul tonight. Same as every debate.

They were playing tricks with the microphones and had a few embedded in what is obviously a paid anti-paul heckler part of the audience.

Not surprised, people always blow things out of proportion.

We're fighting the establishment and the mainstream media propaganda machine, we're going to get boo'd.

GET OVER IT!

It was Ron's worst debate performance this year, that's why. Usually he does better, that's why. He had an off night, that's all. And the f#cking audience was packed with Neocons.

No overreaction. Just a sub-par performance and a missed opportunity or two. He will get 'em next time.

It wasn't his strongest debate. His delivery on the Osama Bin Laden question was very poor. His other points were good, but nothing outstanding IMO. I think this answer will be used as a soundbite by the mainstream media too.

I think anybody saying his performance tonight won him many voters isn't looking very objectively at this.

He needs to do better on Thursday. Let's focus on the state sen. endorsements and the new TV ad they just put out til then.

It happens every debate night. It's usually the same people being rude and doom-and-gloom negative too.

It's possible to be critical without predicting failure, swearing off future support, or just plain insulting. I don't see how that's supposed to help. Those people should just leave.

Although I was impressed that once Ron Paul got warmed up, he pressed the points he wanted to make even though attempts were made to shut him down.

And, yes, tons of overreaction on the board. At one point I wasn't sure which was worse, the debate crowd that seemed to respond like they were at a Superbowl party with an open bar or the histrionics taking place on RPF.

I think it's because we all imagine there's going to be this one perfect moment where Ron puts things so that everyone against us supports us, and when it doesn't happen, people freak.

Truth is, none of our people were lost, but Romney took some hits. It won't be bad when the smoke clears.

I just watched all the highlights, and Ron sounded fine. Or at least like he usually does anyway.

Well said. Constructive criticism versus negativity and thrashing. +rep

This happens after every debate. Handwringers are even more active when the audience boos.

Tonight was like watching WWE. Everything was scripted to go a certain way. Shifty podium placement, blacking out RP once again with few questions, and those questions were completely hit propoganda. Bought and paid for audience members booing the most logical statements and cheering for Fox News chosen one The Grinch. It was just a clown show from start to finish.

Ron said the exact same things he always does and did draw quite a few cheers throughout. He wasn't speaking very well, so that is definitely a negative, but the whole night was a fail. Watch Gingrich skyrocket now.

I think most people are disheartened more over the SC crowd than Ron Paul, I know I am. Ron Paul told the truth as always, he shouldn't sugarcoat it at all, if he did he'd lose my support.

Amen to that. A lot of people really don't get what we're up against.

I thought he did just fine, he killed the answer on military spending.

It's not his fault people at that debate apparently hate the Golden Rule.
