I loved the Tea Party Money bomb but now that Palin and Bachmann have hijacked the name, to me its almost more of a liability. I was proud to be a part of the original but now I dont associate with it at all.

Whoever edits the page should be someone with a strong multi-year wikipedia account. Otherwise the page is just going to get locked.

The status quo knows how much that page shapes public opinion or it would be much more accurate.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm not sure what the point is for this particular purpose. Such a list of local, state and national tea party sites may be useful for various for various reasons; the list could be "crowd sourced" by folks on these forums. However, for this particularly purpose, just google Tea Party in your locality. If they have a site which accepts comments, then post the link in their comment section. I've done this already, though the local Tea Party sites are moderated so it may not get through.

I've got a long-time Wikipedia account, so I can and will fix this. But does anyone have better sources than the ones VoluntaryAmerican linked to? Ron Paul Forums and YouTube aren't ideal. I googled "origins of the tea party" and got this which says Rick Santelli started it. But infoplease.com isn't particularly credible. Links?

I think if that were the case... people like Sarah Palin would be forced to endorse Paul (or their reputation and credibility would be on the line).

But instead we have this 3 way split between Bachmann, Palin, and Paul.

It's hardly a consensus.

Is there going to be a Tea Party '11? I understand it is a bit of ways off and we still have money bombs to promote before that... But, shouldn't we be preparing at least a little for the Tea Party '11? Even if it is just getting a bunch of promotional videos ready to flood the tubes with...

The one from 07 was just so massive and got so much publicity I'm sure we could do even better in 11'. Who could pass up a chance to be part of it?

The community has been told that a dozen times and yet they keep conveniently forgetting about it. The first event was when the Truthers threw the 9/11 Commission Report into the Boston harbor (and other similar reenactments around the country) in 2006. In 2007, Truthers scheduled the 2nd annual Tea Party at Faneuil Hall in Boston, which was promoted to include Ron Paul supporters in general. That was the event that sparked the huge moneybomb.

Even RP supporters don't mind revising history when it suits them.

In the spirit of American patriots who on December 16, 1773 rebuked Great Britain's tyranny by tossing crates of British tea into Boston Harbor, the Boston 9/11 Truth Committee, today enacted their own "9/11 Truth Tea Party," calling on "all American Sons and Daughters of Liberty to cast-off the tyranny, deceit and lies imposed on the American public by way of the official 9/11 Commission Report."

Similar events inspired by the Boston group sprouted up around the country including dc911truth.org, who "shredded" the 9/11 Commission Report in front of the White House. Sf911truth.org dumped a larger than life replica of the report into the San Francisco Bay while members of pa911visibility.com tossed an actual copy of the report into the Delaware river. Similar actions took place in Milwaukee, St. Louis, and other places around the country, all in an act of protest against the 9/11 Commission Report and in solidarity with the 9/11 activists in Boston.

The events were generally kicked off with a reading of the Boston 9/11 truth resolution (below) or similar document, followed by a symbolic dumping of the report into the water. They deserve some credit I guess however that was a 9/11 truth tea party which has nothing to do with the modern day tea party. I suppose the concept wasn't new in 07, but it wasn't new in 06 either. The two are more like apples and oranges. The modern day TP is a continuation of the one started in 2007 by RP supporters and has RP's limited government message at it's core.
