Who runs TheRonPaulTeaParty.com

I started theronpaulteaparty.com back in April or so.

Yes, all the money is going straight to my paypal account. I'm hoping to get $10 million to spend on women and booze. This will help me to get through 2 more years of Obama in office. Please pledge. :P

Seriously though, the idea was that by this time we would have had so many people pledge that Ron Paul would be ready to announce soon before the Dec. 16 moneybomb.

As it stands, it looks like Ron Paul will probably not announce by then. So I've been working to morph it into a Tea Party Rally planning site. I've completely re-done the site and haven't yet pulled over the pledges from the previous setup. I already have the structure set up at meetup.theronpaulteaparty.com and will start pushing for that.

As for those who pledged...I'll encourage them to pledge at runronpaul.com on that day if Ron Paul hasn't announced yet...a sort of pledge bomb.

And then the pledges will re-set for a Dec. 16, 2011 moneybomb.

We have about 4 people working on the site trying to get it going.

I also run garyjohnson2012.com. I'm hoping to set that up as a Gary Johnson grassroots hub so that when the time comes and one of the two candidates drops out and endorses the other, we can easily transition the grassroots over to the other campaign. Anything can happen in one year so I have no idea which candidate will be the frontrunner.

Ok, but on Dec 16th, when people donate money, where will it be going to?

If Ron Paul hasn't announced, there will be no donation...I'll send people to pledge at runronpaul.com, there they'll donate at the given date. It'll be a pledge to pledge...

(I had a FAQ on the site that explained it but I guess I lost it in the upgrade.)

Cool... I was just curious about that :p

What about Trevor's site DraftRonPaul.com?

What about outsiders who come in that solely wish to collect email addresses from our movement? What will be done with email addresses that are collected?

Would a discussion between Nystrom, Lyman, Bryan, myself and many others who have raised money for liberty candidates be healthy?

During the first Schiff moneybomb, a third party was able to scrape a large sum of money off the top for "organizing" Schiff's money bomb. I feel like it was run by an opportunist looking for money, not the success of a liberty candidates. From what I understand, this group took in tens of thousands of dollars. I'd like to avoid a repeat of that situation.

I've read some posts here that recommend having one scheduled money bomb per quarter. I think we have plenty of volunteers at this point who can run a money bomb site.

We need to make sure that everyone is comfortable with said money bomb sites that we all point our links to.

Avoiding these bumps in the future would be nice.

I agree with everything you said except that part about making everyone comfortable. Never going to happen. Just pick a small team from your inner circle, people who know the players out there, and let them decide.

I don't have a problem with people taking a fee to organize money bombs. I just don't like all the people making those fees, and I think we're both on the same page as far as that goes.

True, I should know that you can never make everyone happy...

I don't plan on sending any more moneybomb blasts out if a group is skimming money off the top. Maybe that's wrong, I don't know. It was a mistake to support that particular Schiff moneybomb date imo.

What about Trevor's site DraftRonPaul.com?

I believe Trevor is running runronpaul.com. I e-mailed him when he started that site a week after theronpaulteaparty.com was up and running. The two don't really step on each other since mine was set up with a specific date in mind while his was set up for "some time after Ron Paul announces".

As for paying for a moneybomb site...nobody should ever have to pay for it. I'd find it suspicious for any moneybomb site to take money. Someone suggested I set up a chipin for advertising and I decided against it because it would confuse people too much...thinking the chipin was the donation or whichever...

Once a quarter would be good. One of the guys working on our sight suggested a "monthly pledge bomb" so that the campaign could get regular donations as opposed to having random huge moneybombs that are unreliable for planning purposes.

The whole reason for the moneybombs were because Ron Paul was being ignored in the press but the press seemed to like reporting large quantities of money being raised by the candidates. So we did something that couldn't be ignored. Something tells me that they won't be as effective in 2011.

Sites should be directing people to donate directly on the candidates website, not collecting money themselves. $.02

Good ideas... I wonder if a monthly moneybomb would fatigue donors and the press.

The first or second moneybomb may be our most important, but I think Ron will be leading in fundraising from the start. I agree, the importance of the moneybomb later on in the race may die down.

I believe this has always been the case.

Ya, it wasn't an idea of a monthly moneybomb...but a pledge to sign up for recurring payments. Like how you can sign up on the donation page to have $10 taken out of your account each month. (at least I think they had this option on ronpaul2008).

A one time recurring moneybomb that totalled $500,000 would do quite a bit.

Then how did anyone skim money off the top like you said occurred with some Schiff moneybomb?

From what I recall, Schiff agreed to pay a percentage of the donation total to this group.

This group did not make an attempt to make this information public.

Many email lists and promoters working for free supported this moneybomb like it was all of the others that have been ran for our liberty candidates.

I love this idea. Hope you dudes do it

Since I was spammed so heavily by Lyman I will never promote any site he is part of. He, in my opinion, was the biggest opportunist of all.

I also think this is a great idea. I'm going to set up a conference call. I am already one of the other guys working with Elwar on TheRonPaulTeaParty.com.

If anybody wants in on the conference call, send me a private message and state why you need to be included. I'll probably try to limit the number of people on the first call but I'll let people here know how it goes and if we'll do more calls with additional people.
