I believe that Ron Paul is the most important Ron Paul Candidate; he is definitly the most Ron Paul of any of the Ron Paul Candidates. Ron Paul.

---this poll should have been multi-choise---

many people here will think of two options...
some of us do think of each political race
in isolation, and we could have three or
four people we'd like to see trounce the
opposition. i also think the fifth option is
valid for i can think of several more people
who are at the core of the rEVOLUTIOn who
should run and be viable candidates in 2010
and 2012 and also down the road over the
next two or three decades! run, Rand, run!!!

One minor detraction from his campaign is, he would only want one term if elected.

There will be a presidential election in 2016. His term ends in 2016.

i have yet to vote...

Rand Paul!

As far as best chance of winning:

He could potential win his primary by only receiving 50,000 or less votes...

How many votes do the other candidates have to get (I'm just curious)?

Rand already has a base of 10% of the GOP voters in Kentucky... :D

i think we need to focus on at least 10 races over the next two to ten years...

I think Schiff can because of TV time. Plus Dodd is done, they cant stand him!

I guess this is the part of the mass delusion where we all forget that around 96% of all incumbents got reelected last election, and that Dodd undoubtedly has many favors he can call in, not to mention the huge political capital he has in Washington.

Of course, trying to reason with Ron Paul people during a "liberty campaign" is like trying to control a pit bull in heat.

Well, since Schiff and Paul are running for Senate they would have the most influence. If it wasn't for Ron Paul none of the candidacies would even exist.

I voted for Rand because of his life-long involvement in politics. For Peter, political office could be a passing interest. In other words, if elected, I think Rand is more likely to still be there when he's 74 than Peter is, both because of interest and because of the voter demographics.

Yeah, and what is the reelection rate for incumbents who are polling upside-down?

Probably very high. People are fucking stupid. Never underestimate the power of a mainstream campaign commercial over an average American.

It's not nearly as high as you seem to think it is. There are several Democratic Senators who are upside-down right now, and while Dodd isn't quite as bad as Harry Reid (who is basically walking dead right now), he's still in a great deal of trouble.

And you are very much overestimating the impact of television commercials. Statistically, they are one of the least effective forms of political communication. They may be able to move polls but have much less ability to move votes. As such, they could maybe help push Dodd right-side up, but would have much less effect in mobilizing actual votes in his favor.

Adam Kokesh, but my 2nd pick was Peter Schiff. Kokesh is really a great speaker & reminds me of Ron Paul a lot. Schiff is great but doesn't really talk about foreign policy much.

Rand Paul-- I don't know if hes going to win in 2010. I hope whatever happens he keeps trying to be a Senator though.

Went with Schiff because he has alot of fame outside our movment. But someone like Kosesh could be real huge.

Actually whoever can get through their primary will be the most important. Schiff has the best chance because he could go to the GOP and say, I am willing to use some of my own money, and will be the party bosses excited.

But as you see Gary Johnson may end up being the guy in 2012.

Sweet! How did we find this out?

Adam Kokesh because he is a Sam Adams a firebrand and will kick people in the pants!

Schiff.

He's got the most charisma, plus he's very successful and can self-fund. I love Rand, but Rand does not quite have the charisma or speaking abilities of Peter. Rand is my #2. I really think he's a great person, and would be amazing in the senate.

Peter is in his own league. Watch his speech to Mises, and you will see the audience rolling in the aisles laughing... at a speech about economics! He's got a gift.

I agree, though, that Schiff needs to talk about ending all the warmongering in his race against Dodd. He's probably actually to the "left" of Dodd on Iraq. Remember that Dodd voted FOR the invasion of Iraq, so Peter can hammer him on that in CT, saying that it proves Dodd lacks judgement.
