Hello,
I am wondering if there are any other liberty supporters who have won a local school board election, and if there is an online discussion forum specifically for board of education members?
Also, my local school's superintendent handed me a copy of their board policies and bylaws just after I won the election. I find it alarming that this document is copyrighted by a private corporation -- Neola, Inc. Being that this is a public entity its bylaws are in my opinion equal to that of township ordinances and should be in the public domain.
How would you address this concern? I want to make sure that the rules and bylaws by which our public school governs itself are texts that the public can read and debate on their own. If one school takes an approach that leads to failure, it should be able to copy off of a school that implemented a differing policy that achieved success. It seems to me that if we are successful at anything contained in this policy manual, other schools wouldn't be able to implement such policies without also licensing them from this silly company. That seems absurd to me in my view of a free society.
