I voted Barr because I want the LP to have an easier future. Something like 2.5% can save a good deal of money for ballot access in the future. Hopefully he gets that much. I doubt he'll make the 5% threshold which would help the LP a TON.

It was a tough choice though, the Ohio ballot had a lot of options (8 plus a write-in, although no Ron Paul). I saw Brian Moore on there and Richard Duncan and I was conflicted. I didn't know they'd be on there!

I voted proudly for Baldwin two Fridays ago in early voting...And voted against Saxby Chambliss for good measure.

I was still deciding all the way up to the booth, but finally went with Baldwin.


After reading that article "The 2 Monopoly System" and the John Stossel "politically incorrect" videos, it reaffirmed my decision to vote 3rd party.

I really struggled w/ my decision. my husband and I voted for Barr... Unfortunately Baldwin was not on the Ballot in my state, but I felt voting Libertarian was more in line with my beliefs then voting McCain.

I figure that since they are going to throw away my Ron Paul write in, that makes it even better. It is as if I didn't vote. That does two things, it invalidates their system by essentially not voting and it lets me speak my mind at the polls about my support for Dr. Paul.

So, I wrote in the good doctor.

I like that! They do have two lines--one for prez and one for vp. That's plenty of room for two statements. Damn, I missed my chance.


I wrote in Ron Paul. I had to deliberate between that and writing in "No Confidence". Now, I realize, I could have done both.

I voted for Bob Barr, not because I actually like the arrogant jerk, but because of the message I hope that voting for the Libertarian Party will send. I actually like Baldwin better in certain ways, but since no third party candidate will actually come close to winning, this election is simply about sending a message to me. I wanted to send the message that I'm part of Ron Paul's voting block - and only that, with as little extra baggage as possible - and I felt a Barr vote would hopefully be less likely to be misinterpreted* as "neocon light" than a Baldwin vote might be interpreted as "Christian evangelical." Meh. I wish Ron Paul was a registered write-in candidate in Ohio.

Anyway, I voted for Robert Owens for Ohio Attorney General, so I'm very happy about that.

*by "regular" semi-curious people vaguely looking at third party vote totals and spending less than a minute finding out what each third party candidate actually stood for.

I ended up voting for barr, i had a huge decision to make at the booth, and actually contemplated voting mccain for a moment... i despise obama.

In the end, i did what i knew was right, as chuck baldwin is not on the ballot here in texas.

I voted straight libertarian, and there is TONS of libertarian canidates running for local office here.

So it was straight libertarian for me, with Republican Congressman Randy Naugebauer, who opposed the bailout.
