The reason I asked was in case the pic had already been photo=shopped by the WH.It can't be the smoke from a previous shot as the gun would have had to traverse a long way unless he stepped into the shot? The holes at the top are barrel porting. It reduces recoil and muzzle jump. Porting is indicative of a gun that is only used for trap, skeet or sporting clays. You wouldn't usually have a hunting gun ported.

Below is the Photoshopped photo of Obama supposedly at the skeet range at Camp David. The picture on the left is Obama at the golf course. The New Republic tweeted the picture then came under scrutiny.

The only problem: the picture is a fake, and not hosted on the White House's website. Within minutes the magazine had deleted the tweet and admitted its mistake:

I suspect that the new one, if not totally fake,, it is a staged picture.

I really don't expect much honesty out of the White House anyway.
