White House sides with TSA in Rand Paul standoff

“Let’s be clear,” Carney said. “The passenger was not detained. He was escorted out of the area by local law-enforcement.”

Hmm..."the passenger"....careful choice of words there. I think he 1) didn't want to re-emphasize that this was a US senator and the stupidity on behalf of the TSA that is then implied and 2) does not want to aknowledge the name PAUL whatsoever, considering Dr Paul's run for president.

Not acknowledging the existance of someone or something that this a threat is a common tactic I see among the elite. Not too long ago Chris Wallace interviewed Dick Cheney and asked what he thought about Ron Paul's foreign policy and Cheney didn't even want to answer and barely grumbled something about disagreeing with it. There is probably currently a rule against anyone in the Obama administration publicly acknowleding anyone with the last name PAUL. They know we are a threat and they know we have even taken many of their ex-supporters.

Obama had Rand on airforce1 to talk about federal bucks for bridges in Kentucky

So let me get this straight - the neocons who are gleeful over this, and find themselves on the same side as ... Obama?

lol....

Oh my Lord. What a mess.

Yeah well, after all, the neocons are leftist Progressive Trotskyites who came over from the Democratic Party when they saw an opportunity to takeover the conservative movement. So, it makes sense that they would side with Obama.

But Carney sided with the TSA saying, "I think it is absolutely essential that we take necessary actions to ensure that air travel is safe.

They better double pat down Obama when he is about to board Air Force One! You know, that's a big plan and he could pose a serious flight risk to all of us civilians! I want video of Obama and his children being scanned and double patted down.

The only way you should let something happen to someone else is if you'd let it happen to your own children. Would Obama send his children to guantanamo if they did something against the country?

Isn't it also obvious that Paul was detained?

Aren't people who refuse a pat down held under threat of fine/imprisonment if they leave? Is that not the very definition of "detained"?

You got to love Rand. I can hear him calmly and politely expressing his right not to be touched by the TSA. GO RAND!

it's the same thing as the war against libya. it isn't a war, it's "kinetic military action". here again they're just naming it something else.

I didn't hear his response. Is there a link inside this thread somewhere? Have to admit I only read over half the post here but not all.

I wonder if they can get whatever law repealed:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Articl...n#Clause_1:_Compensation_and_legal_protection

Article 1 Section 6: Compensation, privileges, and restrictions on holding civil office

The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

I don't understand why Rand Paul didn't just quote the Constitution, march right past them to his airplane, and dare them to arrest him in violation of the US Constitution??!!!

Also, whether or not he was "detained," he was being "detained"/"arrested" in the sense that they were stopping him from getting to Washington.

I don't understand why Sen. Paul and Rep. Paul are not making a bigger deal about this being a clear violation of the US Constitution! It seems the media is doing a better job of pointing that out!
