The White House is working to recruit Hollywood celebrities to help promote ObamaCare, a top celebrity political adviser told The Hill.

Trevor Neilson, a veteran of the Clinton White House, said he's in talks with the Obama administration and that his clients are "looking at ways to be involved."

Neilson represents Eva Longoria, John Legend and many other stars as president of Global Philanthropy Group. His past clients have reportedly included Shakira and Madonna, and he has close ties to Bono and Bill Gates.

"I think the White House is very wise to identify partners to help market the Affordable Care Act," Neilson said Tuesday.

"Just like any good product, when people are aware of the many benefits it provides, there will be increased demand."

The Obama administration is working on ways to sell its signature healthcare law to the public over the next six months.

Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced Monday that she's in talks with the NFL to promote ObamaCare. The HHS has also reportedly reached out to the NBA.

I had to laugh at Eva Longoria when she favorited one of my tweets to her. I guess my love for her movie outweighed my direct insult against her and her president.

Suddenly, now that Progressives have taken over health care via the PPACA and federal exchanges, their tune has changed. They seem to have a near infinite appetite for marketing money to support construction of the exchanges (which serve the role of the broker, though less well because there is no support) and information about options to potential participants. That these are exactly the kinds of expenses they have railed against for years in the private world seems to elicit no irony.

Why is it necessary to do this? It's the law, right? Why are they spending so much money (our money) to beg people to comply with Obamacare when we don't really have a choice NOT to?

I cant WAIT to say "NO" to anyone coming up to my door attempting to collect anything regarding Ocare.

To slightly modify the Libertarian slogan to make it a bit more applicable here...

"Good ideas don't require force or salesmen"

But, but, this administration has discovered a way to change/adapt man's nature and help the human race like no other administration -or anyone in history ever before. Even it takes a gun it's all gonna be worth it...

Technology and the global economy have forced this new way of dealing with the affordability of health care and it's quite a feat to accomplish this in such a bipartisan way. That feat alone should drop folks to their knees in thankfulness to this administration.

Some folks just don't give a damn about helping others or enlightenment. :toady: (big mess of sarcasm there + rep)

That there even exists such a creature as a "celebrity political adviser" tells you all you need to know about the essential depravity of politics.

I heard they were going to have Paula Dean start pumping the public. It would be a win win for both. Paula Dean won't look like a racist anymore, Obama gets a health care plug.

What's good old Clint Eastwood up to? It would be most excellent to have one by him on the opposing side, played right after those others

ETA.. he could be talking to empty chairs.. each with a name card of a celeb that's for that load of crap health care.. just let him wing it - would be entertaining
