We're better off supporting getting to 20 million by New Year's, not calling it a "bomb" because we can't constantly compete with ourselves.

My main support is for grassroots efforts in New Hampshire and Iowa right now. I don't have time for this.

I like the idea of a money bomb to end the year with a big *BANG* for freedom!

Remember, MLK day is PAST the early primaries.

Hey, Amy, I hear you. Some of us like competing with ourselves, though :)

I'm broke, BUT... I just got a holiday gift in the form of check. I'm using that as my New Years donation. This actually might be a good time for some to share the love.

I agree about local support, but you know that everything that comes in through the widget is FREE publicity, and it will go where it's needed, too.

Whatever we do, we kick ass!!!

Weekly money bombs are a good idea because it both continues to inspire networking, but it also does not attract increased attention over our fundraising capabilities. It has to be about philosophies, discipline and hard work now.

Blessings to the Flow ~

I'm done w money bombs. Been there done that. I think that if we do well in the primaries I will donate accordingly. Its time for real examples of real results. I'm in the camp that believes that we can win this thing. I'm also in the camp that no later than February 5th we will know without a doubt if Ron Paul has a shot at the Republican nod.

Any day I can send some more money to the campaign I am a happy camper! I have yet to become a member of the $2300 club - so viva la money bomb!

I want to reinforce/repeat the point that weekly money bombs do require increased networking to occur and people feel less pressured to commit when the grassroots isn't seeking a particular $ goal. Let's reflect on this.

I just checked the National Archives website and the dates the states ratified the Constitution in 1788 are:
January 9
February 6
April 28:eek:
July 2

What if we had 4 MONEY BOMBS on those dates? A total goal of $20M!!!

You've excluded from your poll Ron Paul's Payday, which is getting a lot of favorable response.

+1

Ron Paul's Payday is a different concept than the current understanding of the term "money bomb". The concept is to make smaller periodic contributions to the campaign at amounts and time periods optional to the donor. It is therefore flexible and ensures a continuity of funding (avoiding the stop-start syndrome).

This concept, if embraced by the Grassroots, would also allow for weekly targets that could be scaled up. Since the official campaign's widget now allows tracking of the number of new and repeat donors, progress in the size of the supporter base is visible and would provide positive feedback to the effort.

See my signature line below for links made by the prime mover behind this idea, which is actually a return to the original money bomb concept as formulated before it morphed somewhat in the Nov.5th and Dec.16th projects.
